        It’s a game of 2 halves.

I like it when it’s raining & windy & the losing team coach or captain says
“the conditions didn’t suit us tonight”

Ahh yes the proverbial game of two halves. Who could forget that one.

isn't it total bollocks all these cliches , yet one like brandon smith steps up does an interview and says something aside from the given cliches he gets hammered by the media for it .

do we want players to be robots or people ? i might dislike the latrells, mundines, gallens of this world but ill watch there interviews anyday of the week of the cliched bs.

Egan will play Origin in a few years. If Liam Martin is good enough then Egan definitely will be.

The kid has a huge future.

With Egan Butcher having a great start and impact last year and knowing that he's only going to get better this season with more game experience, exposure etc ... I'd be worried if I'm Sitili Tupouniua in all honesty.

Yes, Egan will most-likely be a bench player to start off with but then where does his brother Nat sit ? Also on the bench next to him. Other clubs would be throwing big money and a starting 13 opportunity at Egan, so something in the near future will have to change especially if we're going to keep him long-term.

Who knows ? He could also be Angus's starting replacement in a year or two if he decides to leave and switch codes

Who are our starters? Something like...
                            8. JWH
                            9. Smith (long-term)
                            10. Collins
                            11. Crichton
                            12. Sitili / Nat
                            13 Rads

Bench spots (excluding a utility)... [SST - leaving], [Watson - can play lock], Egan, Baker, Tapuha, Whyte, Atoni, Thomas

With Liu and SST moving on, I'd be thinking we've got cash for the right person, depending on how the season pans out. I'm hoping he fills that sort of a role nicely as we don't have that much depth in our forward rotation.

I'd probably start Nat over Sitili so that Sitili can be a super sub when we need a bit of energy. For 2021 this would give us...
                            8. JWH
                            9. Verrills
                            10. Collins
                            11. Crichton
                            12. Nat
                            13. Rads

                            14. Watson
                            15. Sitili
                            16. SST
                            17. Egan / Baker / Atoni

Do you think Sitili will be a part of the long-term plan (team) though ? I know he can be an attacking weapon on his best day but defensively he has been caught out a fair few times and hasn't really improved as much. He's contracted with us till end of 2024 (but contracts these days don't mean shit) and at the age of 24 right now, could we really see him stay beyond 2024 ?.

As green/raw Egan is right now ... the kid is in my opinion in comparison better. He's an origin player within a few years no doubt so I honestly wouldn't mind or be surprised to see if Sitili finds a new club at some point in the near future.

All I know is that we must hold onto Egan and unfortunately someone will leave to make space. It could be Nat, could be Sitili and like I said it could be Angus. We've got plenty of great young talent coming through.

Unfortunately I agree with you, but I think Atoni could be the wild card over the next 2 seasons and his form will determine who we keep and who moves on. Angus will have one spot locked up and it’s up to Egan and Sitili to make the other spot theirs. With Rads, smith and Watson guaranteed spots in top 17 with Collins and JWH ( 2023 ) it’s going to be interesting to see how the squad develops in next 2 seasons.
