Is B. O'Reilly Bob O'Reilly? - I thought he was good for the Chooks for the 2 years ( 1978/1979) before going back to Parramatta to win a comp in 1981 -retired in 1982 - One of my elder Brothers is a Vermin fan was laughing out load when reading RLW which said the Chooks has signed him from Penrith - 25 or so stone and past it the article said.

I think I read he was flogged by renowned Fitness Guru George Daldry pre-season and stripped down to 15 stone the fittest he had been in years - Unlucky not to be selected on the 1978 Kangaroo tour as well

How on earth was he ever an All Black????
He was a Good player and a dual international so not sure why he is dished so much by folk who never played a game- player # 821- Games 88 - 8 tries - 101 goals - 1 FG - 235 Points

Yes a dual international so he must have had some ability but he was a much hyped signing at the time and was barely first grade level and I could count the very good games he had on one hand. For a dual international he was a complete flop.

I've played both Rugby and League, so I sort of know what I am talking about.

Bob Fulton would be in my team for sure after his dog act when he went back to Manly.

Wasn't that the game when Gould wanted the players to walk off the field after the Roosters had lead 19-4 then Manly got the run of penalties to get back to 19-16 before the Roosters held on to win 21-16. It was a fantastic game to be at live and i celebrated well into the night after i got home.

I always liked Kurt Sherlock, think he has copped to much criticism from a lot of our fans, unfortunately he is remembered for two games against Canterbury in 1992, especially the first one at the SFS where he failed to pass to Garry Freeman and bombed a try that would have put Easts up 18-10, the second at Belmore Easts were coming back and Sherlock knocked on at dummy half a couple of metres out from the try line.

Definitely no where near going on to my least favourite list though.

Maybe should have considered Rowland Beckett to go with your Sorenson.
                .
lol....that's like ordering a Ferrari but getting a ford escort

As for Rowland Becklett, i remember zilch about him....maybe that's a good thing..

All i know of him is this comment "a sound tactician around the rucks" and he captained us for 11 games in 84.

Does he remind u of any current player? Was he nippy around the ruck?

We have signed a few too many Cronulla has beens over the yrs....both Sorensens, Nutley, Chris Beattie to name a few..maybe Beckett too.

Steve Hardy was one of the better one's but we got him young...must have been ok to play over 100 games for our club.

Yep, Brad Burke was a wallaby (officially 1 game as a sub) but was an absolute flop when he played for us)

And Olsen Filipaina was Wally Lewisesque when he played for the kiwi's league team but was an complete flop in our colours...played mostly reserve grade.

Sherlock invented the mid field bomb before Pearce..imagine both in the same side...be a bombathon

This is a subjective thread, "least favourites" as opposed to worst players so that implies personal choices. So no true right or wrong answers in this thread imo.

BTW, i wouldn't have Pearce in the worst players Rooster team. Disliked him for other reasons rather that pure football ability.

The bear was a very clever ball playing prop and went ok for us, I do know he decided to relieve himself in a pot plant in the foyer at the club and got knocked out for his unsociable behaviour.
