For mine, only the top 4 matter at the business end. If Roosters finish 1 or 2… will be Premiers; finish 3 or 4… then will be at mercy of injuries & poor officiating.

Anyone in 5-8th position, with the speed of the modern game, just too big an assignment to get to the finish line, let alone win it! Just my 20c worth.

Cronulla in the 8 is prolly more realistic Top4 is a stretch need to build new combos, new coach, new systems. Fitzy will have them competitive for the full 80 but that will take time, Nulla 7th Canberra/Newcastle 8th and then yeah Riff, Storm, Easts, Manly, Parra and the shit stain rounding out the top6.

I see Parra in the top 8 still, just missing out on the top 4.
Cronulla will be in the bottom half of the top 8
I know it was only a trial but Manly showed the tigers are no where near a top 8 side.

Roosters do have one of hardest draws- 13 games against 2021 finalists including playing the 2021 Top 4 teams twice- other teams they play twice are Eels, Knights, Dragons, Broncos, Cowboys.

The Origin period is a challenge for every team that boasts representative stars, but it’s the Roosters who are staring at the biggest test.

They face the Raiders, Storm, Eels and Panthers before getting the bye ahead of Origin III and then facing the Dragons three days after the series wraps up. Will need a healthy and inform roster for sure so it is imperative those playing Reggies for Norths maintain NRL standard form and not drop their level as they will be needed during the season.
