  • Radley's warning to Latrell

Fark I am so keen for round 3! Want every single forward putting a target on that guys head, whilst also walking away with the victory to make it even sweeter.

That's ridiculous and can only lead to one thing - suspensions - just play to win the game not to settle scores.

Radley missed a lot of footy last year from suspensions including early rounds coming back from the ACL.

Does he want to miss more ? as in my view Radley and Crichton let the team down in being suspended as often as they were including Radley being sin binned twice and placed on report 4 times in the Broncos game which they lost - Cost a top 4 spot in the end that loss.

???? The article's title implies something completely different to what Rads is actually quoted as saying. Deliberate attempt to draw people in.

Glad to read however that Rads feels that he needs to step up and that he owes the team and Robbo after missing so much footy last year

This is why Robinson is the best coach in the game, you can see immediately the difference between how Victor and Latrell have reflected on their seasons just gone.

One has used it as an opportunity to grow and mature, the other has used it as an opportunity to grow a chip on his shoulder.

I said when Latrell left the next few years were going to be very difficult as he lacked maturity and self-awareness and us not having to deal with that part of his career would be a blessing in disguise but that like most young adults he would mature once he hits the other side of 20... now I'm less sure about that. He seems to be in a very toxic environment where they are feeding into his insecurities and coming up with all kinds of strange conspiracy theories. Watching his interview it looks like he's putting up bigger walls than ever to the outside world and that's not a good thing.

I do feel for Latrell, I think he's in the wrong environment and he's being mislead.

‘I don’t need riling up’: Radley’s words of warning for Latrell

While he wouldn’t follow Mitchell’s lead in condemning the match review process, Radley urged the Souths superstar to tread warily if he thinks the game is out to get him. “I was saying a similar thing when I got suspended,” Radley said when asked about Mitchell.

“He is entitled to his opinion or whatever he wants to feel. I don’t think anyone was going to think he was going to stop playing aggressively. It’s no news to us. It is what it is, it will be good to play against him.
“In the past, I have let that stuff get to me, think about it before the game. I am in a really good headspace and [I’m] really comfortable with where I am at, at the moment.

“I just don’t really think about that stuff, because I have worked out I don’t need riling up.

“I don’t need to be thinking about it two weeks before a game because it’s not going to be good for anyone. I just worry about myself and working hard and being really clear and confident.”

Radley plays with as much aggression as Mitchell, and won’t back down either.
“I didn’t need to change my aggression, but I have a lot of stuff to work on,” he said.
“Mostly it’s around my footwork, which is stuff I have been working on for years. Not over-striding and getting myself into positions where I can’t make split second decisions and it ends badly.
“I have been working really hard on that, especially with my knee, just keeping my feet short and stuff like that.”
The suspensions meant Radley felt like he wasn’t pulling his weight at times last season.

While many of his teammates view him as a leader, Radley simply wants to repay coach Trent Robinson and the rest of the Roosters hierarchy, who had his back throughout the suspensions.

“I spoke last year about how I wanted to be a leader, and I didn’t really do that,” he said.
“I am looking forward to paying a bit back. I didn’t really hold my weight last year. Hopefully, I have worked hard enough and am in a good position to really pay back a bit.
“I didn’t start until round three or four because of my knee [injury]. And then I missed five weeks, missed another three. And then with all the injuries we had going on, it was really hard for me to sit on the sideline fit with all the injuries we had.”

The reporter hasn’t compared Rads to Latrell.
Rads is saying to the reporter that he let his emotions get the better of him last year& that he felt the game was out to get him.
I can’t work out why you & others on here can’t believe the Chooks have grubby players like Latrell.
Who care if the Roosters have grubby players, you need them to win comps.

I think King Salvo was referring to TeddyGoat's words, not the article.

Does anyone else remember LM elbowing Verrilis intentionally straight on the head when Sam scored? That was grubby but that was also very dangerous and a dog act.. Hope someone mentions this to the boys before rd 3

I would prefer they work on video of their defence against them last season. A win on the scoreboard will be the best form of payback

Didn't look like it did it. There was no warning to Latrell from Radley in that article - great click bait from the author and OP. If anything Radley's words show he has matured a lot and if taken at face value indicate he will be far more considered in his actions on the field this year:
