I joined The Wall in 2001 and he was a mainstay of it back then.

I met him a few times including one memorable day / evening at Brain’s house one grand final day.

As mentioned earlier he played a significant role in Glenn’s Raise Up A Rooster night at Easts Leagues.

He loved the Roosters and was one of the few with real inside knowledge.

My deepest condolences to his family. I’ll miss you Dave.
Not good..good days back then..trying to get in touch with his family..have no idea we speak on phone almost weekly but hasn't returned calls in a few weeks.

Continually butted heads with him over many years. I enjoyed needling him and enjoyed his at times outraged responses. This place will be poorer without him and he will be missed. Condolences to his family. RIP Tobin

Such sad news was very lucky to have known him personally and call him a friend, done so much for many people on this forum, as stated by Horry Raise up a Rooster stands out amongst many others, Sponsored the club for many many years, individual players, was a regular at every club event, Hallmof Fame nights, Trivia nights, done a hell of alot for Latrell in his early years, which is why he harboured such a disdain for the guy when he left.

Never once looked for recognition for anything he done, he used to laugh at many posters on this forum and others when rumours were posted, this guy really was “ in the know” on alot of things.

Only spoke to him in Jan when he messaged me and gave me a quick call for my 50th, did not even mention his illness

                he will be sorely missed

Wow, more sad news. I always enjoyed his posts, right back to the early 2000's on the old Wall. He was a true Rooster.

RIP JT. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

Gee very sad news. Been reading his posts for years, at times very insightful, at times very funny, didnt always agree with his comments ..... but at the end of the day, we are all chooks.
Funny after spending years on here, you may not have physically met someone, but you feel like you know them through their posts.

Condolences to his family & friends.

I remember JT posting on twitter late last year that he was giving up the handle John Tobin and giving Twitter a miss. I guess I now know why. RIP Dave.

He actually came back under a different handle John many moons ago.

Also, some of us were on the wall from its inception which was actually back in late 90s - 1998 I think. It’s strange thinking about how I’ve known some wallsters longer than my kids yet never met them.
