Danial Mortimer was a disappointment . Real good player with amazing potential but never really got to the top . And yes I know he won a 2013 g/f with us

I actually expected bigger things out of Jamie Soward.
i know he went on to win a premiership and play origin but didn’t live up to the hype when he played with us.
he was a superstar in the lower grades and I expected him to be our long term replacement for Freddy.

one player I didn’t think would go as well as he did was Todd Carney. He proved me wrong….. but in the end silly behaviour was his downfall

Stuart and then Anderson didn't show much patience with Soward in letting him find his feet in the top grade - In and out of First Grade during those 2 1/2 years in the Seniors before being released to join St George-Illawarra half way through 2007.

Soward was a star in the Chooks Jersey Flegg team that were undefeated Premiers in 2004 kicking the winning field goal in golden point.

Phil Clarke was a good player and very lucky that Ronnie Palmer Stopped him from going back on vs Cowboys in I think 1996 as later it was diagnosed he had a broken neck and thus forced to retire

I know he was a good player. But got injured so never delivered. Harsh. But true.

I think Mason did live up to his potential. Not much

Mose Masoe. A huge man who never really fulfilled his potential.

I hope he is doing OK.

Look, I don't know about 20 years, it could have been more but I remember reading an article that had Sam Obst noted as a cross between Geoff Toovey and Alan Langer. I was already counting the premierships when I realised I had been sold a sausage. On a more serious note, I had high hopes that Ben Duckworth would kick on at Easts, in much the same way as Fitzy did a few years later. John Simon was another Steeler that had loads of potential but couldn't deliver in the red, white and blue. Notable mentions for Kandy Tamer, Brad Tessman, Les Cleal, Cam Cherry, Brian Battese and Billy Dart. I fear I am showing my age with some of those names!

David Solomona (did well in the UK)
                              Andrew Lomu
                              Rohan Ahern
                              Steve Naughton
                              Nafe Seluini
