  • NRLW Match : Sydney Roosters v Newcastle Knights @ SCG

Two winless sides go head-to-head at the SCG on Saturday to kick off round three of the Telstra Women's Premiership and for one club, another loss could spell the end to their finals chances.

The Roosters have been disappointing so far in their back-to-back losses to Brisbane and Gold Coast in recent weeks.

Ball control has been an issue for the Roosters with an average 60 percent of sets completed in the past two rounds along with high error and missed tackle counts

For any chance of winning today they must have high set completions and cut down on errors and missed tackles.

Go post all about it on the women’s forum.

Norths should be the lead up game.

      Luddies 19th or 18th century view - It's 2022.

Zac Fittler was badly concussed in Harold Matthews and won't be back- head in the wrong place - some big units in the Wests Side - Chooks down 14-16 at half time vs Western Suburbs Magpies after leading at one stage 14-4

No Mate. If I was alive back then I would not have wanted to see women get bashed and be involved in a violent sport either.

And I don’t like that just because they have vaginas that their game suddenly triumphs reserve grade which is a much higher standard than what these women produce. Instead of watching Norths today it’s a slow women’s game. How boring. I like ladies, not women trying to be like men. Just doesn’t do it for me.

Norths are playing Newcastle away though as per the NSW Cup Draw

Better get used to it as eventually all clubs will have a NRLW side - full time professionals too- 6 teams now Warriors will come back in 2023 - Raiders/Wests Tigers/Sharks/Souths pushing for admittance in 2023

Fiery game in Harold Matthews - Chooks up 20-16 vs Wests - Wests down to 12 players - player sent off and a 2 on report- channeling the old Lidcombe days perhaps

Chooks score and Dooner converts from the sideline - Roosters 26 vs Wests 16 - 12 to go

In your dreams mate. This rubbish competition will bring in no sponsorship dollars and that’s what counts. It’s here for a limited time only. You can always watch the cage fighting if you want to see women be violent and get bashed.

It will be happening just face the facts- The days of men only clubs and what not have long gone - Being violent and bashed ? - They are not boxing

I can see in the future similar junior comps such as Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cups/ Harold Matthews cup/SG Ball/Jersey Flegg for females - Plus a full NSW Reserve grade comp

Match day being NRLW and NRL games at least - Rotating which game is first and second on match day - i.e one week NRLW first and NRL second game then the next week NRL first and NRLW the second game

It's a no brainer - more playing the game/more involved/ more watching games whether live at the ground or on the various broadcast mediums/ more supporters for clubs/more sponsors and what not.

Sponsors will jump on board and in increasing numbers though as they are now- especially those one's hesitant in sponsoring the NRL Men's comp.

The Roosters’ fully-sponsored 2022 NRLW jersey is a further sign big business is right behind the women’s game as it builds up to an exciting new era.

In the latest sign that big business is willing to throw support behind the NRLW, the Sydney Roosters will take the field with a fully paid-up jersey in season 2022.

I am at the ground watching. Along with 64 others.
Our girls just celebrated a penalty like they’d won the men’s NRL. And boy can they screech.

Yes it may take a little bit of time for business to realise most people just don’t care and TV ratings are worse than Neighbours.

Do you honestly believe an NRL game will be the curtain raiser to a NRLW game? You just lost all credibility you ever had. Stick to Googling everything.

That long pass to the winger was right in front of me. The winger ran onto it beautifully. Very impressive.

There are seriously no more than 100 here watching. Including staff.

Early days but viewership is growing as is sponsorship and interest - more teams and more games as well as juniors and pathways the key to expanding the game towards full time professionalism.

Why not NRL before the NRLW on a rotating basis - They do this in Tennis for an example

Women's Origin draws 785,000 viewers on TV, up 13.7% from last year's total of 690,000

you have to start the sport some where. already improved massively over the last 4 years.

good weather has finally allowed our back line actually play some footy.

                              Come on the girls
