The Roosters' side to take on the Manly Sea Eagles at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday night has been trimmed 24 hours prior to kick-off.

Trent Robinson's side remains 1-17 as named on Tuesday.

Lachlan Lam, Naufahu Whyte, Adam Keighran, Renouf Atoni and Ben Marschke drop off the extended bench with Kevin Naiqama and Daniel Suluka-Fifita retained as 18th and 19th man respectively.

I noticed in rd 1 that Naiqama was still fully kitted up at halftime.
24 hours before each game kicks off teams have to reduce their squad to a 19 player squad from the initial 21 player squad named on Tuesday at 4 pm -( 3 pm Sydney Time for New Zealand- 5 pm NZ Time) - 17 "Active" players named in position and a maximum of two additional players named as "Reserves". 18th and 19th player

Then one hour prior to kick-off a final team of 17 active players is confirmed, only selected from players included in the 19-man squad.- 18th player is also named- The 18th and 19th player can come into the final 17 player side if say 1 or 2 players are injured in the warm up.

An 18th player will only be able to take the field when three players fail a head injury assessment or when a player suffers a match-ending injury caused by foul play, in which the opposing player was either sin-binned or sent off.

Clubs wanting to bring in a player from outside the 21-man squad or the 19-man squad after they have been announced must apply for an exemption which will be evaluated by the NRL's Head of Football on a case-by-case basis.

As you know there are 24 player squads now - same rules apply - 24 hours before kick off the squad is reduced to 19 players - the 5 omitted I assume or most would still have to hang around match day in case of Covid Withdrawals in case they are required.

With the Brest bros gone who’s going to score our tries?
yep. my biggest concern is three to four hit ups are one of the ruck footy. (since 2013) or are we playing such simple footy so the spine can jell together. but we lack flare...just my opinion... no speed around the ball....no energy by the team, only a few....boring bombs without pressure....
