Was a pleasure watching the intent in the boys tonight. Great ball handling and discipline paved the way to build that big first half lead.

Then great defence when the tide of possession turned around in the second half.

The forwards were all very good. Makes a difference. Fair credit to Nat Butch as others have said. Sam Walker outstanding. Toups is just perfection on that left wing, just gets better with age. Liked Fletch Bakers work tonight too. Collins still out of groove but cutting some slack off long term injury. Will keep improving, need him firing at the back end of the season.

The most pleasing aspect about tonight was that 20 mins of sustained defence undoubtedly won the game, we got our chance went down field and scored that’s how games are won attitude was much better tonight we got the wobbles with the pill (it’s something that’s just a Roosters thing frustrating but defence like that wins games and win we did) yeah scrappy Hail Mary try from Manly at the end was all or nothing play not concerned.

I have to give it to Toops, what a game tonight, really stood up to the young winger for Manly.
Toops is the ultimate clubman, never tried to test the market, I remember years ago I’m sure the club thought he could test the market and get a pay day but nobody really showed interest. Or he just was happy here.

Robbo didn’t seem to enjoy that scrappy Hail Mary try at the end. They showed him blowing up in the box after it. I assume he was just really annoyed that we conceded another try so late in the game.

Great win the boys really bounced back, I thought SST was superb early on and our shape in attack looked a lot better. Hutch had a couple of great kicks from dummy half and him starting allowed Watson to cone on and create havoc with his running.
Massive improvement from the forwards with Sitili and Butcher running some great lines.
Toups was terrific as usual in metres out of our end, high ball and finishing.
Walker was so dangerous in attack and i loved the try when he fed Keary who really dug into the line and hit Nat short.

Now I know this is a touchy subject but what am I missing with Billy Smith? I know the poor bugger has had an absolutely horrendous run of injuries but I don’t know what I can’t see in him.

I’m working at the NLA and have been on the roof watching the balloons most mornings, they don’t take off til about 630am most mornings, but maybe a bit earlier tmrw since it’s the weekend.
