He's powerful and was effective for us in ~2018-19. 2022 though? I dunno man!

Blake Ferguson has been cleared to train with Sydney Roosters, but contract still not registered by NRL

'Reportedly'... who's reporting this other than some dude who made a meme?
You could do worse, although I'm not impressed by his actions in Japan. I mean drugs, an assault and a deportation (due to a related arrest...etc). Surely the NRL can't just ignore that.

I thought we had sufficient depth cover but maybe we don't ?- Billy Smith injured every fortnight (as sad as it is, it is true).
- Kevin Naiqama hasn't really set the world on fire and he's a bit of a defensive liability.
- Joseph Suaalii is still very young and a work in progress.
- Vuate Karawalevu is still young and a work in progress.
- Adam Keighran is more of a centre at best and can be a defensive liability but he will probably get poached by the Raiders and may see limited games for the Roosters this year.
I'm not in support of his off-field dramas and issues plus in all honesty, the less negative attention we have on our club, the better but Ferguson isn't a bad player to have and his right side combination with Manu in 2018 was underrated and lethal at times. However, I don't think the NRL will approve and this is probably someone misinformed creating a rumour purely based on Ferguson playing country footy with the Thirlmere Roosters side. That being a "Roosters" side must've triggered someone to join the "imaginary" dots and link him to the NRL side.
Let's see what happens ...Last edited by DP1990; 04-13-2022, 03:00 PM.

I would imagine if he signed with us, it would be on quite a small amount given what he’s been through recently. If it was on a small amount I would say it’s a fairly good signing.
He can literally slot back into his original position outside Manu, which if most don’t remember was our 2018 premiership winning right side. Let’s not forget, he’s also a goal kicker (backup kicker for NSW at one point I believe).
Either way, good depth signing if it’s just short term and for cover while younger guys get more time under their belts.
