On their day the Chooks can put any team away but whether or not they can do that enough this year to get them in the top 4 is a mystery at this stage.
After 3 Rounds Ive got a feeling the Chooks are not going to be able to beat the top 4 sides of this year to win the comp..

I thought Smith showed some brains by putting his foot into touch making a kick out on the full. Not many other wingers in the NRL would have done this.

He looked really good when he played last year then got injured again. I think he's definitely worth persevering with.

As a team I see a few problems.
1. we need a goalkicker, because walker is still a while off being a proper one
2. As much as I disagree with this statement as a whole, we do need a little size. For me we don’t have a player that really strikes fear into the opponent. Jwh used to be that, and while he’s still a very good prop, hea not that anymore. We need a David fifita, Payne has, taumalolo type player. I think Tuku should be groomed for that and that needs to start this season, imminently for me.
3. Errors. Knock ons killed us that game and I noticed that this season we have been forcing 50/50 passes which haven’t worked at all. We need to go back to our bread and butter.

1. Bring in Adam Keighran for the goal kicking and shoring up defence.
2. DSF could and should be the enforcer.
3. Lack of ball security kills any movement.

Thanks for the rants all as it saves me from ranting about much the same things. It seems I have to lower my expectations of this team for the moment. The biggest disappointment for me this year is Crichton - perhaps he should have kept the man bun to keep his power a la Sampson?

the way teddy played on friday in that first half was quite simple irresponsible. miracle passes on every play .

it was a bad day at the office for him, hell be back .

I think the last few years with all the injuries have given us false hope for when we got a healthy team back on the park. I think we just expected to be great again.

boyd,bmoz,friend,Liu,Cronk,Latrell have not been replaced, by anyone better or close to their equals, and age is catching up with a couple of the players as well as recovering from major injuries.

Man 100% agree. Reckon we forgot what we lost and thinking we could just replace blokes like Boyd that just kept putting in, Latrell....won't go there but agree. Then Angus who's not close to his best and our forwards, they get owned but every now and then JWH or Taki show some skill but love them both, we need a deadset enforcer.
