    24 MAN SQUAD v COWBOYS

I'm not going to make any predictions. I honestly have no idea what we are going to dish up this week. I do know that playing in Townsville at this time of year is not pleasant. Given the humidity and temperature up there, handling is a challenge, and, let's face it, we don't need any more challenges in that department.

DSF gets his chance this week in place of Baker ... that will make a few Penners happy. Good luck to the boys.

EDIT: Club just released a statement that Robbo has Covid and won't be travelling to Townsville.

"Sydney Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson will not be making the trip to Townsville for the Club’s Round 4 match against the North Queensland Cowboys after testing positive to COVID-19.

Robinson is self-isolating and will continue to follow the NSW Public Health Orders.

“I’m feeling fine and am very comfortable with the plans we have in place, and I’ll be back at the Club next week,” said Robinson."

    GO EASTS !!

I thought E. Butcher was supposed to be back this week. Has he been picked for the Bears?

DSF in that line up makes me pleased. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts and swaps with Lindsay. Love the way he runs, and just has one mission every hit up, to run as hard, and as far as he can. Think he adds a great go forward to our forwards that we have been lacking. Whyte and Atoni named as 18th/19th man is exciting as well, means they are very close to coming into 17 calculations. Surprised it was not a straight swap at wing, Smith for Suaali, but would presume Robbo wants to give young Joey another game in Bears for fitness. Looking forward to this matchup, will tell how far we really are from clicking as a team, I don't expect Cowboys to be easy beats, they looked very solid against the Broncos/Canberra and have a big young forward pack as well as JT who is starting to rediscover some of his best form again. Hoping we get a bit more leadership from our senior players, specifically Keary and Tedesco, by both actions and voice on the pitch, both lacked that last week against Souths. Keen for this one.

Good luck DSF, good on him for pushing for selection. I like Baker, he’s got plenty in him too, it’s always difficult to show your best when a team performs below par. There’s a good crop of young forwards coming through… I have faith in the Roosters system… I’m sure Fletcher will reset & use this opportunity to get his name back in the ranks.

Funny last week, everyone was on the Haas hype machine… the Cowboys didn’t read off the same script?!… I think Cheese moreso will make a big impact around the Roosters ruck & go forward.

Just my opinion. Go boys, get back on track!

Baker has not even been named in the extended squad. I assume therefore he is either injured, or Robbo wants him to play some big minutes for Norths to work on his game.

                  When's the Bear's squad named?

Will be tough up there. They are in good form and will smell blood.

0 chance of this happening, but would like to see anyway... DSF to 8. Collins to Bears. Tuku to bench. Hutchnson 18th man. Keighran 9. Watson utility.

A few penners on here have been saying DSF should be in for Baker.
We wont know if DSF was gonna be picked & Baker dropped or if DSF is in because Baker is injured but DSF gets his chance, I like it because he's bigger than Baker & he's aggressive. If given plenty of FG DSF could be in the Hass mold for all we know.
On paper IMO the Chooks have a heaps better team than the Cowboys but they're 2nd & the Chooks are 13th (shake my head), besides Taumalolo who else would make the Roosters team?
Im tipping the Chooks because of the far better players we have who I think will be much better this weekend.

Thank you for that groundbreaking statement. You don’t think it’s a possibility at all? Lindsay hasn’t exactly set the world on fire the first 3 rounds and the go forward is really lacking. Maybe something more realistic would be Jared starting then? Either way, I’m not convinced Collins/TKO can get us off to the greatest start against a much bigger forward pack.
