I have been watching him make breaks for over 10 years now and he still doesn't know how to look for support, he blew an easy try in the 2002 GF and a decade later he still doesn't look for support, Jake Friend was on his hip today and would have scored easily if Mini just looked.

As a young player Mini made lots of breaks and had a low rate of converting these breaks into tries, as a more experienced player (albeit slower) he is not making as many breaks and is still only converting a low percentage of these breaks into 4 pointers ... he has been a great player but I have to be honest and say I am looking forward to seeing him in the super league.

His "step" when he made that break was pathetic. He stepped one way and then the other and just ran straight into the fullback.

Mini has never had a step. Used to run over players and that was his game. Now he no longer has the strength to do that and has no other skill (like a step) to fall on. Yep, it was embarrassing.

You're right about that. He mistimes/misreads too much for a top class fullback. Slater always makes it count when he makes a break.

His eyes lit up and he had a brain explosion.
He said that he didn't see the player coming who tackled him.
He said he won't be doing that again.

He didn't drop the ball, scored the winning try and I liked him for it.
I still liked him yesterday, even if he threw a dumb pass that cost us a try.

Slater is a 'freak', the best.

I'd keep Mini next year.
