The addition of Nicho Hynes to the Sharks has been immense. His size allows him to go right to the line forcing defenders to engage and opening up his outside men. Together with his pass selection creates indecision for defences. Talakai playing outside him is having a field day as he is too big to stop one on one. He would be the first to buy Nico a beer after each game.

It cannot be, because I'm told here that size doesn't matter in the NRL.

Sharks are playing basic footy and not trying to be too fancy.

I don't think the Chooks have really adapted to the new game and still rely on backing their defence.

Possession and field position is king and you need high set completions in the new game as without that it puts a strain on your defence which results in more errors/more missed tackles and more penalties and set restarts conceded as the fatigue and frustration sets in.

Teams are moving away from the rubbish structured multiple hits ups and out the back with decoys and kick on the last style of play. i.e Moving the ball from sideline to sideline with numbers of support players involved and backed by a fast line speed defence to deny the opposition yardage/ field position and frustrating them into making errors

The high 60% completion rates the Chooks currently complete at wont cut the mustard in the new games - 75% plus as minimum is what you need to be any chance of competing with any side your playing especially the better ones,

I'm pretty happy with our coaching staff....think Ryles and BMoz will bring their own attributes to our squad.
