I don’t believe Cords has the personality to be a coach. Maybe an excellent assistant.
As much as Fittler is a club legend, he always has one foot in with the Panthers. Who can blame him, they are his roots.

I also believe his sacking as coach (whilst deserved) created animosity with the club which took years to wear off.

Cordner on the other hand is a Rooster 100% and nothing will change that.

He was the current Roosters captain, NSW captain & Australian captain that had to retire early from playing the game so tough, I will never forget Boyd Cordner, he is in the same legendary league as Freddy, Artie, Mini & Latrell.

His grubber kick on full-time to set up the match winner for Minichello in that classic round 1 game vs the vermin in 2012. And 2. His try vs the drongos at suncrap in the dying seconds (i think it might have been either 2013 or 2014.
I was at that game, Cords scored that one right in front of us off a Pearce pass. I saw it coming too. Stuck in the memory box.

There's a part of me that still expects Boyd to come back and play, haven't reconciled his retirement, too soon.

he knows his stuff but he is very full of himself. Cronk can’t use his words as well as johns, but as an analyst cooper is up there with the Wok as the best I’ve heard.

Come on tracksuit they are as funny as f#ck those boys. I'm sure they get a lot of help from the professor( I think he writers a lot of the material) but they in their own right are a very good comedic team.
yeah it's low brow but thats the audience and they do it well.

Some people want more serious league chat and far less comedy from those shows and as a result get turned off by them but that doesn't mean they are not fkn funny.

Yeah I have seen him out and about a few times and stayed away but observed him each time give every punter that wanted a photo or a chat give his time freely and looked very happy to do so. Seemed like a great bloke from the few times I've witnessed it.

They have their moments. Agree that a lot is very scripted. I do appreciate those who can laugh at themselves as well and Hindy has got plenty to laugh about through his career!

I used to think like this until I asked the man himself…
I was at Roosters game vs Sharks at Shark park, a year after he was sacked as coach, and there was Freddy sitting in the crowd with a large jacket on and beanie…just like any other fan and hardly anyone recognising him until this lunatic saw him.
I actually went and sat with him for 5mins, left before it became weird, and after a while asked him point blank
“You are are one of the greatest Easts legends but I understand your hurt from being let go.. I have to ask are you a Roosters or Panthers fan?”
He didn’t blink, “Mate I’m Roosters through and through nothing will change that..I’m sitting here by myself just as a fan. I Just love them so much even just as a fan like you”
It was great to hear and he was such a legend.
