  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Broncos

Round 11 last season we went to the SCG expecting to smash The Broncos. We lost by 18 points. We were complacent. Brisbane have suffered a bit of turmoil this past week. An injury or two and a suspension plus an in-house scandal. Despite all this it will take more than just showing up to get these 2 points. We need to earn our victory. It comes down to the forwards. Let’s pile more misery on redneck Kevie. Let’s put that imposter of a ‘coach’ under even more pressure.

Play it up the middle. Smash their forwards and no more complacency.

    Go Roosters!

Thank God sense has prevailed . Isim should be banned for a month for such poor form .
We should win and win well but always wary of Reynolds in whatever Jumper he is in

On paper we should win easily. But should have also won both clashes last year easily. I'm expecting the drongos to put up a backs against the wall mentally with Haas and co. coming out all guns blazing in front of their home crowd. Need to whether the first 20-30mins, and then just like last week play strong up the middle, no dumb penalties with a high completion rate. #EaststoWin

yeah, on paper we're huge favourites but our form has been patchy this season. we're looking to build on last week ...

It would be embarrassing again to lose to this mob..we have to win by 50 if not we are still in the so so department.

We've taken these blokes lightly before and paid a heavy price so hopefully we aren't complacent.
We looked a lot better last week with Rads leading the way with his hard running and ball playing allowing the halves to give Manu space out wide.
Teddy was a handful and should prove likewise around the ruck against the broncos forwards.
Our bench lacks a bit of leg speed and mobility by my reckoning.
              Easts to win

                Can't wait ,
I'll be there tonight with the wife in bay 313,
hopefully it's not a long quiet drive home.

Very confident the chooks will get the job done

Im tipping Angus Crighton to play himself into form tonight. Origin is not far off

This should be a comfortable win to us, as long as we are not complacent and focus on the task at hand. Surely we will continue to improve, as we are getting match fit and ironing out all of these off season cobwebs. I see nothing but a decent Roosters win by, say, 12. Easts forever!

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I am most looking to the battle between Payne and Jared.

Payne would be in the middle of Ramadan but will be out for a big game after the week he has had plus might want to impress the Chooks to justify his huge pay demands.

Siua is a big loss. Does anyone know what’s happened to him? He was in the Captains Run. Baker played really well for the Bears last round, hence the recall. I was hoping to see Sam Verrills and Joe Sualli get a run. Sualli was good for the Bears too.
This isn’t an easy game as some would think. The boys need to play their best footy to get the win. Last year’s loss still irks me. It would be great to get 2 wins in a row.

This will be a tough match as one expects a siege mentality from the Broncos after the off field and on field shenanigans and bad press.

Can't afford to think they can just turn up and win.

Will need to play an 80 minute game - ball control/high set completions/ low errors and missed tackles/ low penalties and set restarts conceded/ discipline/ speed in defence and the play the ball/ good kick and chase game etc.

I'm calling an ambush. Especially with a sharpshooter vs the little engine that sometimes can't.

This. That grotty little gnome has a habit of pulling our pants down. I'd love to see him humiliated for a change.
