That was definitely circus music refereeing tonight.
Did the ref have any relatives playing in the Broncos side?
He must have - it was almost so one sided , and he gave so many decisions to the Broncos ,it was deplorable
And Joey's second try was ruled "No Try" by the ref?
An absolute joke - Annersley needs to piss this guy off from refereeing NRL, forever.
Atkins, he's deadset worse than Sutton these days. To be fair when first came on I liked the cut of his jib. Unfortunately it's the same agenda week in week out nowadays.

Can't wait for verrils and Egan To come back. Thought our pigs went alright tonight especially baker, but SST was a huge out.

    It's only round 5, 3and 2. Come round 10 we'll be better.

He was never getting to that ball IMO, ball was travelling too fast for him. The ball was too infield as well for him to smash out. I do agree that he won’t be our first pick winger. Depending on how Suaali goes this week (in reserves), the warriors game could be the best time to pencil him into the side

      • i just cant reconcile that performance in my mind.

on paper were a top 4/5 team . brisbane at best are 9 / 10 at best .

we seem to turn up so often with this blase attitude , were we concede leads, metres, miss tackles against teams on paper who are massively inferior to us .

do other top teams do it as often as us ? melbourne ....rarely, penrith ...not in the last 2 years, parra ...generally flog weaker teams , souffs ...can lose big against good teams , i guess they lost to brisba in rnd 1 .

am i being to harsh or is it reality ? we just seem so farking casual sometimes its infuriating and at times unwatchable .

          No.
We just need to teach him how to make effective tackles.

Good teams find a way to win. It's an important trait to have, hopefully one we dont have to rely on any time soon.
I don't agree with that as the Broncos done good played strong and had a real dig - Chooks may not have been at their best overall but they were really tested by a pretty committed Broncos side so to win it was a fair effort still.

The Broncos were excellent and Staggs showed what a great player he is on his day. People saying they were embarrassed and have never been so disappointed in the team, just over the top. We were trying in the first half and our completions were good but the Broncos were just better.

On another note, how good to see Crichton run into some form

              • Angus excellent off bench, as was Baker. DSF solid too and JWH had good second stint. Still think Toops best on ground… don’t mean to be negative but don’t see Sitili love on tv coverage, was ok.

                • And the scary thing is defence is supposedly Momos strength.

Didn't question their effort but they played crap, execution was shocking just amount of passes that went behind players and to the ground was enough to lose a game.

                    • That's not good for the ticker but very happy to come away with the 2 points.
Manu stamped his class and best on ground, Toups was awesome out of our end. I thought Gus was terrific off the bench and walker come up with some huge plays at the end, broncos played well tonight.
Atkins was calling our blokes by name to get off as soon as they made a tackle and didn't do us any favours and gave JWH no leeway when he won the ruck.

                      • Naiqama let in 3 tries, dropped a catch and couldn’t knock the ball into touch then a missed tackle. He must go. Give him away he’s hopeless. Alone he cost us Brisbane’s 20 points. Surely Suualii would do a lot better than that.

                        • Channeling the Chooks NRLW side somewhat perhaps - NRLW down 16-0 and win 22-16 - NRL Men down 10-0 and win 24-20

Must say I'm a little worried about Teddy he looks a bit "heavy" to start the season and has lost all explosiveness and not breaking tackles like he used too.

Big positive out of tonight was the stints off the bench from Crichton and Baker both ran straight and hard.
not sure if it’s a good or bad thing that we won that game with no involvement from Teddy, keary or Victor.

Yeah you're spot on. There was some great individual performances but collectively we just weren't on the same page tonight. Geez sammy loves the clutch moments doesn't he. Hard to believe he's only 20

His lack of height has been exposed, and many bombs will now come his way.
He needs to be replaced in FG but kept at his peak.
