What were the pundits trying to say about that one? I think...
      - Lockyer was saying that we use a passive defence style, which suits Staggs' game. Whereas a lot of teams take him out early and he goes missing.
      - Teddy said he's simply difficult to tackle 1-on-1 as he's really strong/athletic, so we had to make sure there was always an extra man out there for him.

Personally I thought Reynolds' kicking (plus a large number of B2B set restarts paired with dubious penalties) made Brisbane look a lot better than they actually are. Can't say our dropped tries helped either, but IMO both were harder to execute than they looked.

Reynolds had the ball on a string, so his outside backs had a field day. I dunno how he does it but those balls he put up on the last tackle each time looked farking impossible to defend against. They'd float around in the air just enough for the chasers to arrive, swoop down on a weird angle (which the chaser was ALWAYS expecting) and then bounced horribly. NFI why Souffs punted the guy! He's got one of the best boots in the game IMO. Him and Cleary...

Naiqama v Oates was an interesting one! I actually rathe Naiqama's counter-attack... he's a bit like having a Barba or an RTS on your wing if he gets ball early and steps a few guys. Height seemed to cost him against Oates though. It felt like he relied on HAVING to catch the ball early and with Reynolds' kicking game on song, that was never gonna happen.

TriesOffKicks wouldn't be happy if s/he were here today, but I think our running game won the day. Fark I love seeing Watson's speed!!!

Not quite sure why you would be celebrating when the match is still to be won - do that after full time- Not a fan of try celebrations or carryons myself as it annoyed me and many others the way Penrith carried on after scoring which they have somewhat toned down.

Your not giving credit to the Broncos performance as they would have beat a lot of other sides tonight as they really put in- Chooks had to work hard for the 2 points and their best is still in front of them - only round 5

Agree with all your points. A number of souffs fans i know are still asking why they let Reynolds go. Haha

Regarding Watson, a couple of his runs from DH tonight were simply electric. Reminds me of Craig Wing in his prime, smaller guy but strong and fast

              • Most of our team tonight played well below par apart from 6 of our guys.

                Manu was in another realm...

Walker, Toops, Gus, JWH were very good and Baker was good off the bench.

Momo had just about the worst defensive game I have seen from a Roosters centre in a decade, since Jmoz gave SKD a bath when the Dogs flogged us by about 60 one day out at Homebush. But he deserves another crack as he has been solid in prior games is usually very good defensively and won a premiership at Riff.

Suaalii straight swap for Kev N.

We got the win, which is what the good teams do when they play shit and we usually struggle against the Broncos, so I am pretty happy.

I thought we were a lost cause at half time, but we turned it around, so well done......

                  • I don't think the Broncos played that well, mainly because we were on top through our middles, and we did not let them control the match.
The Broncos first 2 tries came from defensive lapses in our backline , and some usually very reliable defenders like Momo and Teddy missed tackles.
Given I have faith in these 2 guys, I don't expect a repeat defensive lapses from them again.
The Broncs were ahead at halftime , also due to our mistakes (like the Keary misdirected pass) and the Sitili fumble with the line wide open.
Despite playing like amateurs, we still won the game.
The Broncos 2 second half tries came from kicks, lucky bounce of the ball, nothing to slit your wrists over.
Our defence stood firm, and it wasn't as if the Broncs were running holes through our defensive line.
The foundation is there to build the season on.
All that is needed is to fix the issues that are fixable, and then other sides will begin to worry about us.

                    • An ugly win but I’ll take it.

Move Keary to the left side. He’s a natural left side player.

Had the pleasure of meeting ROC101 and Bondicigar last night. Both wonderful supporters and good guys.
