Atkins vs JWH

He so obviously has an issue with JWH... constantly warning him, pinging him for things that happen in almost every tackle, accusing him of milking every time he's fighting to play the ball. He even warned JWH as a blocker for one of our kickers, the one and only time he mentioned it all game.

That penalty vs Ryan James is an absolute howler.

Totally agree with this - is atkins working off a tip sheet or does he just have it in for JWH, or both? Whatever the reason, it's wrong.

Funny thing about Atkins was when he 1st started out he was one of the only referees whom I thought treated us fairly or even favourably Obviously a few seasons in and he has now been told if he wants to progress ut the refereeing ranks this must stop.

He was farking weird and I would hope that his performance this week leads to some sorta relegation. IMO they should have a larger pool of casual refs as this guy (a farcically junior, dunce of a ref) clearly got intimidated by the QLD home crowd.

Premeditated bias from Atkins which is his standard operating procedure. Last night when JWH asked for an explanation from him regarding the penalty and for being placed on report, Atkins could/did not answer or explain it to him.


His actions, and overall officiating time and time again shows that 1. He does NOT like the Sydney Roosters 2. He does NOT like Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.


I'm also disappointed in Teddy last night for not addressing Atkins as a Captain should. He needs to voice his opinion, concerns and question calls that are being made against his team and team mates. You want to be called a Captain ? then bloody act like one. I'd bet my house on that if Jake Friend or Boyd were on the field last night both of them would be asking for an on the spot "explanation" or at least call out the ref. I hope the club sends an official message to Graham Annesley asking for an explanation and to request Atkins to be demoted.

I'm all was JWH and the call was absolute bollocks, but there's nothing to gain from going back and arguing with the ref about it 5 minutes later. Leave it for the match review committee, which will HOPEFULLY not lay any charges and instead have Anal Guy having to explain 'this was a shit call... it was completely wrong'.

Atkins must have been listening to the Chanel 9 commentary team Fatty, Smithy, and Jt. these 3 bannabenders were on fire poor old roosters hardly got a mention talk about biased you would have thought it was state of origin the way these 3 Muppets carried on, Kayo sports is where ill be watching our games from now on

I have to agree with the general sentiment in these posts, Atkins ha it in for JWH. The penalty was ridiculous. Jazz needs to be alter to it at the same time and not give the fool any ammunition.

I was discussing this with a mate who doesn't support the Roosters.

He reminded me that in the South's game, Atkins gave a away 3 straight 6 again on us which led up to South's first try. He called Nat Butcher off side which is why we let in the soft first try to Cameron Murray.

Given JWH has been fined I want every tackled player to also now be fined for similar offence. But we all know that won’t happen.

The fact that he has been fined for it, is more of a joke to anyone who has played as you are trying to get up quickly and the defence is just crowding over you..... It is nicpicking at its best!!!

The problem for JWH came from the fact that he grabs James' ankle and then moves forward. Without the ankle grab there would have been no penalty or report.

While I love JWH's aggression and what he brings to the team, if I'm honest and the incident is reversed, I'd be pretty disappointed if we hadn't received a penalty.
