He is good enough for NRL though despite his many detractors on here - the arm chair nevilles for instance
Where would you suggest he plays in our 17? Truly kidding yourself if you think he’s even good enough to get a sniff at that side when all players are available

He's had more than enough opportunities to secure a spot and has shown very little in first grade. Hope he contiues to play well in the right grade for him, reserve's

I don't think Robbo would re-sign him if he wasn't up to NRL level though which he is even though he might not be in the 17 each week. You need more than 17 NRL level players each season and if all fit then obviously some will be playing NSW Cup.
People seem to have perceived issues with certain players. - Momirovski looks like the next player to become the whipping boy for some / N Butcher cops it from the usual suspects and Fletcher Baker as well and Hutch even copped it for a fair while as well and then suddenly became the arm chair nevilles second favourite player.
Some on here as supporters are as rock solid as liquid water.

So true Salvo. Just reading the match day thread during the live game is hilarious how some bag players mercilessly and then suddenly change their tune if we win in the final ten. It’s amazing how a player can go from whipping boy to hero lol n the space of a few minutes.
I just want us to field our best team and in my opinion that includes Suualii but he isn’t selected. Is he still injured? He had an operation I believe but hasn’t returned since. He’s a natural line breaker and try scorer and I would have him in the team as soon as possible.

Oh sure I mean he has an NRL contract and has played infinitely more NRL games than I will in my lifetime. I'm not bagging the guy or trying to claim his career's somehow invalid.
I guess my point is that he murders teams in reserve-grade but is a bench utility who will probably be much more than a #17 in first grade. Guess I just feel for guys like that who are quality footy players and athletes but become far less useful in first grade (whereas a lot of of our forwards aren't superstar reserve-graders like Lam, but are solid starters in both grades when called upon).

I would say the way he plays in NRL is the way Robbo has wanted him to play as there would be no other reason for the difference in his game between these 2 grades.
In other words he is playing under instructions in NRL as Robbo is very much structured play focused whereas in Reserve Grade Lam has been able to run the ball and kick etc and show that side of his game in a less structured game plan.
For an example in NRL Lam may have been under instructions by Robbo to just pass the ball onto the outside backs /players such as Tedesco and not run himself when playing in the halves and when playing dummy half just pass the ball and not run or kick etc.
Robbo is not keen on a running or kicking dummy half one has to say despite Hutch having a couple kicks from dummy half in recent games.
Judging him on his game playing style in NRL and not knowing how Robbo has wanted him to play which i allude to in my example is very unfair on Lam one has to say.

Don't be one of the arm chair neville's
Hutch kicking from dummy half has been good for us as our halves have the worst long kicking game in the comp

Just because you don't think every player in our team is of equal quality when talking about their ability doesn't mean your not a solid supporter King. You can be a "rock solid" supporter of our club that can still be objective on talent or value a certain player is. Ridiculous statement.
I don't mind Lachy as he is depth cover at what I would think is depth cover price. But he ain't making our 17 unless there are injuries this year. It's nice to see him doing well in that game and you never know at only 24 and a half his time in first grade may definitely still be ahead of him.
If Momo keeps falling off every second tackle and offering little in attack supporters are completely entitled to question his value to the team.

Spot on.
One of my pet hates about the Chook Pen (and some other club forums granted) is the knee-jerk reaction brigade.
On Lachlan Lam, he is a good player. He is not shite. This is a fact, supported by Robbo and others at the club. If he was shite, he wouldn't be there.
The issue with Lam, I think is that he probably needs to really hone in on one or two of his skills and perfect them. It's pretty clear from what we see from Robbo that Lachlan is and incredible talent between the ears, but needs polish and execution on the physical side to succeed at the top level.
I still think that the likes of a Cowboys or Dragons will pick him up eventually, as we quite simply don't have the room to offer him what others will.
