Do you really think he would publicly say they are chasing Haas for 2024?? ( Still under contract )

It would stupidly draw criticism to our team and question any young props coming through ..

I thought Robbo's response was a little more vague. We would likely need to recruit within ... unless the salary cap increases (it will). Even when Robbo said "we have not spoken to him" does not mean they haven't spoken to Nasser.

              100%

Robbo is hardly going to admit our interest.

No way you would sign him and pay 800 k plus even 1 million as some have said on here as realistically how many games would a prop win you in a season for that type of money especially the minutes they play.

Develop the youngsters internally- stay on the current course of being a development club.

And trust in the plan he has for us to be peaking at the business end of the season. After watching him on 360 I reckon Injuries will be the only think that will stop us from making it to the big dance this year.
Or a few of those better teams.

I would say Penrith and Storm are two of the better teams - whose the Third- Souths /Parramatta/Manly/ Sharks ?

It's one of the worst kept secret about SST but I'm glad that no one in the NRL will get their hands on him, I wouldn't want to see us play SST next season. Dolphins and Wayne tried their best to recruit him but the offer from France was too good to refuse. Yeah, I agree with a lot of people here that say "As if Robbo would announce on NRL 360 that we are interested in Haas etc" but honestly people, he did make a fair point, Teddy, Keary, Cheese and others as well like Walker and Suaalii on top of those players will take a fair chunk of our cap over the next few years so I don't know how we would be able to accommodate Haas but if we can find a way ... I would welcome him !

Perhaps promoting players from within may be the route we take with the likes of Daniel Suluka-Fifita, Tuku Hau Tapuha, Naufahu Whyte, Alex Leapai Jnr, Xavier and De La Salle Va’a and add to that as well the likes of Renouf Atoni, Terrell May and ... yes Fletcher Baker

i always learn something when i listen to robbo. one thing i took out of last night was that when picking a team (or a goalkicker) he has an opinion on what's best to win a gf and is prepared to develop those players and combos.

There is no chance that the club thinks DSF and Baker are the long term replacements for Tauks and JWH.

When have we relied completely on development? When we needed a Fullback, we bought Teddy, when we needed a Second Rower, we bought Creighton, When we needed a 5/8 we bought Keary. etc. If the club thinks they need to recruit a Front Rower from outside the club, they will. As we always have done.
