Agreed. Just remind me to never ride in a new manual car with you!
Hahaha don't worry, I drive a 10 year old automatic (wife cracks a shyte if I mention manuals as she tried to learn how to drive one as a kid and failed).
TBH my mum's little manual's pretty awesome to drive, as are the little keis that I drive in Japan. But yes... my example came from mum's manual, which has a reverse next to the first gear. If you subtly put too much pressure onto your stick while selecting first, you'll hear a massive 'BEEEEEP', alerting you that you've selected reverse. After you've driven it a few times, you learn not to (for example) lean on your gearstick while waiting at the lights.
Sometimes I get the feeling that Teddy/Keary have been leaning on the gearstick... then when they receive the ball they go 'oh shyte I'm in reverse', switch it into first and then do a hospital pass to Collins who makes 1m, knocks-on and is like 'thanks guys!!!'
Even with Toops' try... I noticed that the pass was off, so he had to speed up and reach forward in order to catch it. He made it look good in real time, but it's clunky. IMO against the Drizz or Pamfers they'll smell a weakness like that and prevent the try. We need to have much smoother gear changes (I'm milking that stale analogy I know, but that's how it feels to me).
