I said weeks ago that keary is a 5/8 that's where he is one of the best players in the world and that's where he should be playing not halfback that's walkers territory ,that's why the backline is having a few problems imo.Keary running off walker is what should be happening not the other way around.

Not a game befitting the occasion unfortunately. The better team won, they defended well and always seemed to have numbers when we went to the edges with our usual block plays.

I mentioned in another thread that benching Rads and JWH in this sort of game was a killer. If they aren't fit for purpose, don't play them at all. No room for cuddles and cover ups in big games.

Liking Aussie Joe every time, the class of Manu, Walkers progress and Fletch Bakers work.

Not much else to enjoy.

Nothing to do with who starts and who doesn't though and more to do where their heads are at.

I haven't seen Toops do such a play on the last play as he did today - line in front of him and if he puts the foot down he scores but passes instead and not a good pass at that. - They are not nailing the key moments

The days of being able to defend errors and low set completions are over - 65% set completions and 15 errors.

There must be a reason why Keary is being persevered with at half but it's not working and nor is trying to make him into a organising half at this stage of his career .

Runs sideways way too much and this pass to a backrower running a hard line has well and truly had it's day and defences are more than awake to it

If they are going to persist with this cross field running and pass to the backrower then the backrower has to also have a passing game as well.

It's just copying that same play they used with Cords and Cords didn't really have a passing game either which when doing such a play the backrower needs to have to put the defence in two minds.

The Backrower can either run that line and or draw the 2 defenders and pass to the outside players - i.e centre

It's a 1 time it works out of 10 play if that - rather low percentage

Keary's last tackle kick options today were either too short or misdirected. as they have been most of the season - Not sure why they are not putting up attacking kicks on either the left or right when you have two fair leapers in Toops and Manu.

Keary has to go back to 5/8 and Walker at half.

What concerns me the most is Robbo made a point the last 2 weeks we must start strong and fast, unfortunately both weeks we have been the opposite!

gee sam walker looks good. really knows his way around a footy field.
another good game from suaalii - he's already setting them up for joey.
fletcher baker had another good game - he's got a deft passing game.

clearly we're a better side than the dragons but credit to them - they hung in there. we created enough to win by plenty but a couple of soft tries and some frantic moments with the ball in hand got us in the end.

Radley has been a let down so far hasn’t he? All this talk during pre season of “ repaying the faith “ to Robbo, well he’s been very quiet.

Would love for him to represent us in origin but on current form he’s no where near that arena, and to think some of our fans mention him along with Murray & Yeo. He has a long way to go

Yuck. Collins jogging effort into the defensive line absolutely screwed tauks and sitili for the dragons first try.

Not starting 2 of our most direct players backfired Robbo.

Thought the ref was okay for once but we never should've been punished for bakers lovely ball to radley.

In the 5 minutes they played direct today they looked good, but went back to being piano players.

We should rename the club the Sydney Metronomes, side to side, side to side.

I'm calling for the end to the Keary halfback affair, 2018 was a long time ago and it was one game at the end of the season.

3 rounds left to get that attack humming. If not after 10 rounds then when?

The most frustrating thing is the amount of talent in that side, we are so far off our own pace it's disappointing.

Not calling six again on a wrong knock on call. Dragons being miles offside. Just bad reffing for both teams

We have bulldogs, titans and then we run into by my understanding storm, panthers, eels and sharks over the course of 6 weeks. We also play all these teams 2 times as well as the Rabbitohs on the last game of the year. Hence why we need to win these games, because I don’t have much faith in us beating the top 4 teams atm

Very disappointing performance from the Chooks their ball control was dreadful again no one to blame but themselves.

That was hard to watch today. Yes the ref made some bad calls and we got some duds but so did the Merge.

For mine....

Teddy 6/10 Its a pass but we expect him at the top of the class.
Toups 4/10 All is forgiven for so many years of exceptional service
Manu 8/10 Really good but a bit of shirt grapping today
Momo 2/10 And I'm being kind. The fact that he missed a sitter kick didn't annoy me as much as his lack of follow through after the mistake.
Smokin' Joe 7/10 Generally very good and must go to the centres now
Sammy W 7/10 Big heart and big smarts lots to like. Perhaps our future half back should play........ halfback
Keez 2/10 poor Kicks, poor options should be our Captain but atm hardly justifies his selection
Rads 5/10 Something is missing
Crighton 3/10 Not playing well or being dominant
Sitilli 4/10 our new SKD? Rocks or diamonds
SST 6/10 Ran hard but missed a few important tackles
SammyV 8/10 Thought he had a great game and did a lot of work
Collins 7/10 Thought he went ok and did a lot of D
Nat B 4/10 Needed to lock up the centre and he didn't

Baker 7/10 Good work while he was one and good distribution and second phase. Looks a lot better with his new haircut.
Drew 5/10 should not have been there. We needed a bigger body (DSF) to tire the opposition. Sammy V need a break but could have been covered by Nat B or Rads.

Momo needs to go and be replaced by Billy Smith or Carr from the Bears if Billy is still out. Watson is as soon as possible to give Sammy V a break. Walker to half

I dare say we have too many non islanders in our forwards.
Buthcher Collins Crichton are really way behind the pace compared to others. Liu who played all games last season carried the forwards not JWH.

Another disappointing game from the boys we just keep making simple errors and handing the ball over.
Our forwards are nowhere near the better teams packs and we couldn't contain a couple of washed up blokes in Woods and Maguire and were lucky Su'A got injured.
Collins is a decent bench prop but not a starter, the defence by him and Sitili for the first try was atrocious.
Crichton offers nothing on the edge and I'm hoping we don't re- sign him.
SST has been our best forward all year and I like the improvement in Baker.
Momorovski was awful and looks out of place in first grade.
Teddy doesn't deserve to get picked in front of Paps for origin and Keary looks short on confidence.
Manu and Suaalii looked good down the right and Toups had a night he'd like to forget.
Sam didn't give up and kept probing away.
Really worried about where we are at because we've had a soft run and haven't faced the quality in the comp yet.
Our lack of fluidity with ball movement is a huge concern.
Was a terrific atmosphere at the game and the nrl do a real good job of it.
Onto the dogs with plenty of work to do and a few of the players need a rocket as they don't seem desperate enough when we are defending.
Can't blame the ref it was our poor play that hurt us.
