There’s still some admiration and care for the Roosters in some capacity from afar but yeah, I do think his overall commentary becomes overwhelming as he tends to speak from the heart just as we do like fans/supporters and he’s probably a bit guilty because he puts on his “coaches hat” and says things which makes him sound harsh and very critical.

Gould and Robbo share a good friendship as well !
Rumour has it that that ship sailed a long time ago. I don't think they even speak anymore

      Interesting ...

      I remember this article: https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/phil-go...a-71797899b10b

Quote "Gould batted away claims reported by News Corp that his relationship with Roosters figures Robinson and Nick Politis, with whom he has a strong and long-standing relationship, were 'in the freezer' based on either his comments on Nine's TV coverage or their subsequent discussions on the phone."

I was at the game and Andrew Johns must be off his nut.
        SBW was right.
Looking around the ground, and hearing them, the crowd would have been 60% chooks supporters/ 40% Dragons
Why do the commentators make up this bullshit?

Team bb also turns the sound off...as all the commentators seem to cheer for everyone who plays the Roosters.
We imagine we're at the games sitting near the cameras.
It's good actually, all the commentators leave the ground, bye bye, don't have to listen to all their rubbish.
As said here above, if anything is not understood turning up the volume can provide clarity.

Watch this. Gus actually quite complimentary.

I don't think he hates the Roosters at all. He has posted many positive things about the Roosters on Twitter.

I thought the Ch 9 commentator, Matt Thompson? was the most biased commentator in the last 2 weeks. He's a turd of epic proportion. Easily as bad as Ray Warren in his anti-Roosters bias.

Isn't he the guy that shrieks all the time, and tries to make smart comments?
I find the stuff that he says , is entirely cringeworthy.
Where did channel 9 dig this guy up from?
And I agree- a flip/ turd of epic proportions.

I think that's part of the general problem. Everyone's been calling the Roosters 'star-studded' for a couple of years, now. The reality is different.

Vossy is also annoying when he gets onto a topic he finds amusing as he can't help but laugh and carry on about how funny he thinks he is.

But all in all I will take Fox over nine any day and not just because it costs me a fortune and we need to get our money's worth.
when i watch a game of footy i want to enjoy myself - there are some commentators who really know what they're talking about but the 'presenters' are pretty awful (although i think voss is actually the best of a bad bunch). commentary is an art and the league front men are hopeless. don't make me list their shortcomings. when you go to the game you don't have commentary - what's wrong with not having commentary when you watch a game on tv?

IMO he hates how shyte we're playing.

You can't always shoot the messenger (Gus) and the refs when we play like cow poo. However, I respect that it often makes things feel better

i'd keep the volume on if they just had the noise from the ground. they could put a few mics somewhere so we can hear what the players are saying and a few around the crowd to create atmosphere. they could have a sound engineer to coordinate everything. stats could be displayed during breaks in play.

God help us if they put a few mics in the chookpen !
