  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Bulldogs

Who knows what we will dish up today. We would have to beat this mob by 100 to really make a statement. We lost to a rubbish side last start and it will take more than a thrashing of the competitions worst side to make up for that.

Keep them to zero and hold the bloody ball. No one-on-one missed tackles that lead to piss weak tries like last week.

We have a great side and should be playing much better. Hopefully today is the day we begin to get our season on track and maybe a bit of entertainment along the way would be nice.

    See you out there.

    GO ROOSTERS!

Every game is a danger game for us. We lose to the ones who we should flo:g. And get flogged by the top 4.

Heard and interview this week, cant remember who it was but it was about Bellamy and saying the squad go through the basics over and over....so passes stick, reduce spin pill and but them and the riff are miles ahead. We need bloody discipline and FFS Teddy you can pass the bloody ball every now and then.

          On paper, we win easily...

Reality, depends on which Easts team turns up.

          Easts by 8

PS - wonder how old mate Flanno will go?

$50 we get some 'Penners claiming we shoulda kept him coz Keary's not a 7... and Walker wearing a 7 would fix all our problems.

If only our halves were Hastings and Flanno, ay bruh! :P

The only thing I can see happening is the dullbogs being close to flawless in attack. They won't score many points but will only make maybe 2 errors all game. Prepare for them to play their best game of the season, just like 90% of the other teams we play each week.

I'm maintaining my hope for a mid season resurgence (ala 2018) only because Robbo keeps telling us we will keep improving....each month.

Face value tells me otherwise. TIT.

Rads needs to play big minutes if we are to go anywhere this season . Him and JWH starting helps.

Downside is we will miss Toups a lot today. Others really need to step up.

Rain today in Sydney, hopefully gone by kickoff.

IMO the Dragons' defence was legitimately pretty decent and we hadn't done our research on it.

Doggies will be hoping that Cleary's lost brother (Flanno) has a cracker, Ado-Carr scores heaps of full hectic 80m tries and Pangai Jnr rag-dolls our forwards around like... actually I'll stop there! They're hoping for a miracle and all we've gotta do is play some farking footy today!!!

PS - be prepared for some intelligent, well balanced commentary from Gus Gould and Joey Johns. Can't wait to hear from those two legends of this game. Oh and Sonny Biiiiiiiilll!!! Bruh did you see that hectic run from SBW?!? My thighs are gonna be as big as his forearms after I finish my next cycle, bruh!

We should beat the dogs who haven't been good at all but the one player we'll have to keep in check is Pangai jnr. He has been offloading at will and will be running at Walker and Sitili from the dogs right edge.
Hope the rain clears up otherwise it could be a scrappy affair.

I tried to tell you last match day thread that the Dragons were not a "rubbish side"...that they played tough against the Knights, were a big side and had tricks.
The Hunt-Molo trick was too good for us.
                        So was their bomb trick.
                        So was their defence.
                        *
                        Is our side really great?

                        *
Now to this game against the Dogs.
The Dogs will also fancy their chances of beating us.
Dogs beat the Cowboys in round one.
Round two they scored 10 points against the Broncos but lost 10-16.
Round three they scored 12 points against Manly but lost 12-13.
Round four they scored 0 points are were beaten 0-44 by Storm.
Round five they scored 12 points but were beaten 12-32 by Panthers.
Round six they scored 16 points but lost to Rabbits 16-36.
Round 7 they scored 14 points but were beaten by Broncos 14-34.

                        Dogs scored
                        16 points against Rabbits.
Roosters scored 16 points against Rabbits and lost 16-28.
Roosters scored 12 points against Dragons and lost by 12-14.

Roosters are no certainties to beat the
"up to 16 points a game" Dogs.

                        *

                        Roosters still have to play:

                        . Panthers......TWICE
                        . Storm...........TWICE
                        . Eels..............TWICE
                        . Rabbits........ONCE

                        14 points

Must beat the Dogs to have any hope of making the 8 this season.

For those unaware, Fox is televising the Bears versus Bulldogs match at 12:30. Good opportunity to see how Atoni, Whyte, Marschke, Keighran and others are going.

                            Go Easts!

Rumour has it that Keighran will play centre with Momo switching to wing.

Easts by 30...................we are due for a big win.
