Just gotta be patient with this team...next yr we are in with a chance with a strong no 9 and the 3 strongest teams (Panthers Storm & Eels) going backwards player wise.

I never really gave us a chance this yr.
I went across the hallway to check on the neighbours...they are all 'commiserating' with assorted beverages but telling me 'they are feeling a bit crook at the moment..'..

I thought this season would be shades of 2016 and it looks like I was right..I slept through most of those games too...

I wish he would get back to being physical with and without the ball
I think there’s a little more complexity to it than that, I think he has been deliberately pushed out of that first receiver role or at least limited his input there whilst the spine have been trying to work on their combinations.

When Trent Robinson was in Iso for Covid, they had two footballers in charge of training and the Roosters beat the Cowboys in their home stadium. How about some training that doesn't involve walking barefoot through grass or getting in touch with your inner child. How about tackling, some more tackling and more frigging tackling. Then, maybe the flair can come out.

The 'cattle' on display today...threw intercept pass, kicked out on the full, failed to find touch, dropped the ball a lot.
          Also threw bad passes.
          Etc.
Much the same things happen every match.

thats the annoying part. We should.

Still a a long way to go but we’ve got some tough games coming up which could leave us sitting in a very ugly position in the ladder.

Of course it's a shared responsibility.

I guess my premise is that we have the 'cattle' we chose, and Robbo would have a decent say in recruitment and retention. So, there's your buck stopping.

Then it gets back to preparation and tactics.

Lost to the worst side in the comp ,..have lost 3 to below average teams.
How many times did Teddy bust them and absolutely no one in support?.
                          Man that was bad.
                          Coach takes ownership here.
Only Teddy and Toupiano had a go .
We should not be this bad.
Coach has gonna have to pull some thing out of his ass.
The improvement areas apart from errors...play the balls are shocking slow ...forwards absolutely mostly nothing barely making a dent..softest forward pack in years .Support play is real bad there all asleep ..
If you look at the tops teams in attack they move up in support of the ball carrier and if there is a line break the ball carrier knows there will be players in support.

It's like a surprise to the Roosters players that someone makes a line break as they are on their pat malone usually with no support.

Same as in defence for the top teams they all move up together in one straight line

I think myself the Roosters are playing the wrong type of game and haven't adjusted to the new game and are too predictable in attack and this mindset of backing the defence despite the low set completion rates/high error counts etc is old school now in the new faster game where possession is king.

The average Play the ball speed was quite quick - Roosters 2.73 seconds compared to the Dogs 3.43 seconds.

So the problem wasn't that tonight- more of a case of the slowness of the play after the play the ball.

You hear commentators talk about a quick up tempo game- not sure if the Roosters are capable of that though especially when you consider their low completion and high error rates.

For a team not known for offloading and or razzle dazzle footy which could affect completion rates there should be no reason why their completions should be that low or their error rates so high.

Penrith complete currently at 81% and Storm 78% - Chooks will drop to 71% only above the Raiders who complete at 70%

                          Chooks - 2021 -75% / 2020 - 77% / 2019 - 75% / 2018 - 76% / 2017-75% / 2016 -73% / 2015 -74% / 2014 - 72% / 2013 - 75%

I know people will say but last year they almost finished 4th after the regular season despite low set completions/high errors/missed tackle counts etc and with all those injuries/suspensions/retirements and so on but one has to say it was a fairly ordinary comp standard wise.

The top 3 were way in front of the rest.

                            I think you’re over-simplifying it.

                            • I havent read any of this thread but I just want to say that the Roosters have no mongel/grubbiness in the team.
I would rather lose with 12 players because 1 of our players irons out the biggest gorilla in the opposition side & gets sent off than lose with 13 players who have NO mongrel or grubbiness in them.
Surely Robbo knows this & surely he knows that Keary is ineffective at halfback. Walker did a fine job last year at halfback when thrown in the deep end put him back there & let Keary float & pull off the big play.
Anyway I think deep down you all know that the Roosters are NOT premiership contenders & will make the top 8 but it will be 6th or 7th & we will be watching Penrith or Melbourne win the comp.
The Roosters have got their hardest games to come from Rd 10 to Rd 16.

                              • Neither of the two Roosters tries in the second half should have been allowed. Had they got of jail in that game they would have needed more than a cement mixer to plaster over the cracks. Its funny i was playing music while the game was on and ABBA's Keep An Eye On Dan came up with the lyrics "This Shouldn't Be A Traumatic Event But It Is" just as the Roosters crossed in the corner to possibly level up the score or win the game , summed up that moment and really the whole game in general perfectly.
