        Something just doesn’t add up!

Its got nothing to do with Tedesco, its the inclusion of that extra Radley pass that it forcing Teddy and outside backs wider, use it now and then not every ****ing attacking move

Yep. It diminishes Vic’s running game too. His footwork and passing through the line needs to return. Leads to quick play the balls where the next two tackles we are on the front foot playing against retreating defenders which brings Keary and Walkers strengths into play.

That and our forwards aren’t getting the regular punch through they once did.

Or we could just hang on to the ball for a whole game

Coach kruT what's your opinion on bringing back the old Johnny Peard bomb - the one near the posts or in goal near the posts since fullbacks defend in the line nowadays and props for instance are near the posts in the defence.

The cross field bomb for the wingers is okay although teams are more adept at combating these nowadays as many wingers are on the tall side.

Surely worth a try when struggling to score when in the oppositions 20 and a less taxing option that the grubber in goal to obtain a repeat set as you have to bring the ball all the way back again to the same area after the drop out.

Mini scored a lot of tries that way and I'm old enough to remember Fairfax doing the same. Isolating smaller fullbacks and sending Toops or Suaalii infield in search of a try under the posts makes a lot of sense to me.

The best sides get the basics right yep ^. Look at Penrith for example they aren’t lighting the comp on fire with explicit plays or even structures inside their 50. IMO Ivan isn’t notorious for that stuff and rather emphasis energy and attitude.. you’ll hear him mention that at least once a conference. And they just get the basics right time and time again. I encourage people to watch to their kick chases.. or when the entire backline getting back onside and helping out the forwards for example there are some sets in their games when they give their forwards a rest with all 5 tackles used by backs hitting it up.

Kicking early and having a moving linespeed isn’t flashy at all and the itty gritty of it often will break lesser teams who can’t handle it. We did that with Manly in the first half and is what I believe is the roosters way.

We have had plenty of good ball opportunities in the oppositions red zone, only to watched us go coast to coast and see the 2 pass to Teddy, while we all get frustrated with him running our outsides into the sidelines.. Oppositions are eating this rubbish up... We need more decoys/options in good ball and Teddy needs to straighten up and draw defenders and open up the outside... its rocket science #101!!!

If Trent is able to find the locker room, perhaps the block play can be reimplemented.
