By all means develop our GOOD young players but like any club we have to buy the occasional "star". At the moment our team has way to many duds. In all my time supporting the Roosters I can't remember a weaker team.

Think back to when our backline had Mick Delroy, Sandy Campbell, Anthony Totten, Jamie Shepherd, Brad Burke etc. Are these players worse?

Even that was a better team to watch. Sure they got some floggings but at least they dished out some and they never finished last.

Look at the ages of our players, honestly.

                Sam Perrett - 24
                Nate Myles - 24
                James Aubusson - 23
                Sisa Waqa - 23
                Jordan Tansey - 23
                Iosia Soliola - 23
                FP Nuuausala - 22
                Setaimata Sa - 22
                Mitchell Aubusson - 22
                Anthony Cherrington - 21
                Sonny Tuigamala - 21
                Shaun Kenny-Dowall - 21
                Rohan Ahern - 21
                Stanley Waqa - 21
                Tom Symonds - 20
                Martin Kennedy - 20
                Sandor Earl - 20
                Mitchell Pearce - 20
                Ben Jones - 19
                Jake Friend - 19

...even 25 year old 'veterans' like Nick Kouparitsas and Lopini Paea, as well as 27 year old Shane Shackleton, have only had a handful of seasons playing first-grade regularly. We have also signed Jared Warea-Hargreaves (20 this year) and Daniel Conn (23 this year). Who does that leave as the experienced old heads?

                Anthony Minichiello (injured mostly)
Braith Anasta (bad form + injury)
Willie Mason (bad form + injury)
Mark O'Meley (bad form + injury)
Craig Fitzgibbon (solid but limited form, age factor)

...Coggy, THAT is the reason for the bad performances. Loads of inexperience and youth, and the only 5 experienced blokes have had an indifferent run with form and injury. If you don't have faith in our young kids, then don't support the mighty Chookies. We are trying to break the mould of the whole 'transit lounge' era, and by signing talented young kids to long term deals like Symonds, Nuuausala, Williamson, Cordner, Jones, Perrett, SKD, Sa, Friend, Pearce, the Aubusson's, Warea-Hargreaves, and hopefully Cherrington soon too, we will have a very strong and youthful core, built around a relatively mature and experienced front row coming into the prime of their careers (Myles and Paea) as well as Braith leading the team from lock next year (I can safely assume...).

You need to start having faith in the development Coggy. Just because we persisted with Soliola and it didn't come to fruition, it doesn't mean that we all are going to crash and burn. Don't end up like that hopeless knob-jockey from the Wall, 'willo'. What a tosser he was...

I just find it really harsh that people can so quickly write off players. Okay, guys like Soliola, Sa and to a lesser extent SKD haven't developed at the rate that we expected them too. But all the rest are playing years beyond their own ages, in particular Nuuausala and Symonds who have looked for the most part like seasoned firstgraders this year.

Id take it you only watch a quarter of our games then

I used to be a big critic of FPN but this year he has proven me and a lot of others wrong

I wish I watched less than a quarter of our games this year..

He has been very poor in a lot of games..

                          OK in a few games..

                          and good in only 2...

And that was months ago when we were re-signing him..

Yes FPN has been terrific this year but as usual this was before he re-signed with us.As usual once when they have the contract under their belt the form goes out the window.Case in point Setaimata Sa.

Sa will become a great player for us once our forward pack starts making meters, he is a player like Mateo where if everything is rolling he can create even more but if nothings happening he doesnt know how to eject himself properly

If he can play the role Andrew Lomu played for us in 2002, except with clearly better ballplaying abilities, he will be a champ for us!
Mack, I think I might not have made myself clear. I wasn't having a go at Frank, I was having a go at Freddy. For what it's worth, I have faith in FPN to become a really good prop as he gets older and gets more game time. What I was questioning was why FPN was used so little and why Mason was over used considering he is still coming back from a serious knee injury. Mason was being ineffectively used in the bash and barge role for which FPN is better suited. It just doesn't make sense to me not to use a prop for a prop's duties but instead use a second rower. This is down to idiotic coaching for mine.
