  • 6 again makes me sick again

Just can't seem to get many yet somehow concede a lot. Penalties are explained for the indiscretion but this rubbish rule gets free reign from the refs which leave you scratching your head why it was given.

Not forgetting the *7, 345* forward passes by the Eels that weren't pulled up.

      What an awesome win.

Let’s not waste our energy with the one side officiating.

It is "unusual" how our opponents seem to avoid giving us 6 agains.....yes, that's the word.

Awesome win of course but they were knackered at the end with the eels coming home strong. A flood of 6 agains against you stunts your attack towards the back end of a game. A much needed win especially since we have Panthers next week.

The 2nd half momentum shifted when Watson gave away a 6 again on the 4th or 5th. They had great discipline until that point.

I really wasn’t that fussed with the officiating today, we got a lot early on and Parra got a lot after half time. Swings and round abouts.

We have been awarded the 4th most penalties in the competition so far this year, given where we’ve been in previous seasons I’ll take that.

I will say I thought the sin bin on Opacic was a little harsh given Tedesco was never going to get the ball, penalty sufficient IMO.

Although I don’t know how Dylan Brown stayed on the field, if forceful contact to the head is a sin bin then that should’ve been a sin bin every day of the week.

It is unusual when you consider the Roosters are number one in the average play the ball speed and the Parra coach made a special mention of this pre-match in stopping the quick play the ball.

Obviously teams will try to slow the play the ball down and the Roosters in that case should receive a few more set restarts- Ruck infringements/ Inside 10's and Penalties in games than they currently do.

Match stats on set restarts as per the NRL were

                    Ruck Infringements conceded

                    Roosters 6 vs Eels 1

                    Inside 10 Metres conceded

                    Roosters 2 vs Eels 0

                    Penalties conceded

                    Roosters 3 vs Eels 6

I actually think Teddy would have definitely scored if not taken out & the Brown on Toupanoua tackle looked like a good strong tackle & we were lucky to get the penalty.

Yes I mentioned that in the game thread as the Eels were going nowhere in that set - the converted Try in the set restart sparked them up and then they score a back to back converted try in the next set from the kickoff restart (Moses try)

From 25-6 to 25-18 and game on.

Matterson's converted try also from a set restart late in the count too. - 25-24 with 20 to go - had to win the game twice as they say

If you concede them you need to defend them.

We need to stop blaming the refs. So many stupid plays in the ruck. Also linked to our high error rate.
