It's like when someone throws a pass and hits a players hands without an attempt to tap it on. If it goes backwards the ref calls knocked back and knock on if he/she thinks it travels forward.

Walker was not attempting a pass and the ball travelled forward off his hands. Knock on all day.

Firstly, u should watch that video posted by Spirit of 66..maybe then u will wake up that most passes ain't forward although they appear to be. Watch that over head pass too...considered a pass but not a throwing action.

I have never made a counter argument to the momentum of the ball in a pass, my point is purely that they don't interpret a bat on to be a pass.

In fact if you read my last point in the post you quoted you would understand that I think the momentum of the player touching a ball should also be considered when adjudicating knock ons.

And if a pass depends on throwing action then according to u all flick passes are a knock on?

What's the difference between a tap on and a flick...both use same wrist action but one generally uses arms down (flick) and the other arms above head (tap on) with same wrist action.u should know wrist action R6... And time in possession has no relevance for been a pass..whether milli sec or a minute..

So why didn't ur hero A Gee rule Manu's pass for Sualli's try a knock on? It wasn't a throw and it hit the ground..

I think it's irrelevant how it bounces... to 'knock the ball towards the dead ball line' refers to the verb KNOCK. The KNOCK is the tapping motion and excludes any other factors that one may observe.

I remember Adam Reynold just palm the ball between his legs on the play the ball and Staggs would have scored if not dropping it.

You already answered your own question.. he didnt pass it he palmed it. If you palm the ball forward then its a knock on, I've never seen a ball come off a players palm and it be called a forward pass, have you?

The problem with Rooster_6's stills are that we don't see where the ball leaves Walker's hand - it appears he was moving forward - or where the ball actually initially hits the ground. Not their fault as when you try and do frame by frame on Fox, it does miss a few frames. I thought it went back to be honest and then bounced forward - even a Souths-supporting friend agreed.

To be fair to Gee, he seemed to play on and probably got a call from the touchie.

It's not really a fight, just a disagreement with the current issue.

R6 has proved it was a forward pass. Move on.
Twice during the game once with Tupou & once with Suaalii they were called for a knock on in the play the ball but neither were & the Roosters didnt challenge either incident.
