If we buy a new winger, we want one that wants to play wing for his career, likes of Toops, bmoz, sivo, radradra.

you buy cobbo, and the same thing happens like Latrell in a few years time.

I’ll take a few years of Cobbo on the wing and another premiership and then he can go chase FB coin elsewhere afterwards.

Said it before, I’d sign this kid in a heartbeat. Special player.

Good point and specialist wingers are generally on a lot less money than the other positions.

Except that Bmoz left St George to be a fullback at Canterbury.

Very rare these days that elite wingers don't want to be fullbacks at some point in their career.

If you're buying young you kind of need to buy a step down on the talent scale or buy at the end of their careers after the fullback/centre switch didn't work out. Think DWZ, Valentine Holmes, Nick Cotric, Brett Morris etc.

            Theory.

The Roosters are playing games (mind and/or business) with the Broncos. Last week they said that they want Selwyn Cobbo and this week Haas asks for a release. The Broncos will quickly re-sign/extend Cobbo using the money they had aside for Haas because they will be worried about the risk of losing Cobbo who would have more upside playing for the Broncos instead of a prop who will bend their cap out of shape or risk losing both players potentially. Haas will start to kick stones around the club, at training and will make it diffucult.

The Broncos will release Haas very soon and he will join the Roosters. The Roosters were never really after Cobbo but have played a tactical business game with the Broncos.

PS: The Roosters and Nick Politis continue to play chess meanwhile the rest of the NRL play checkers !

Did he actually play more than a handful of games for them at fullback? I remember Hopoate played a fair bit of fullback for them, don’t remember morris playing that much there, maybe he went there as a fullback, but ended up playing more wing.

What a team we'll have next year! Munster, Haas, Cobbo, Smith and I think someone suggested Fifita too.

Something is up, I reckon the deck chairs are being shuffled.

Lodge (prop) quits the Warriors with immediate effect (DT says Manly are the preferred destination). Manly have told Taupau to look for a new club for 2023. Haas (prop) asks for immediate release. Dogs pair Hetherington and Pangai (props) have apparently been told to look for a new club. Taukeiaho is leaving the Roosters this year. Jesse Bromwich joins the Dolphins next year. There is probably more

Quality props are a necessity to win comps and like halfbacks there aren’t that many elite props going around.

His entire 2015 was at fullback which was his first season for the Dogs, then did his knee in 2016 which is when Will Hopoate came in which meant Morris only went on to player a few games at fullback after that.

Add Matt Burton and Klemmer to that list....and every player coming off contract in the next 5 years.

We think Nick is doing a great job but if you consider all the players we are rumoured to get and how many players we actually get, his strike rate is like 1%!
