I admire you Lippy for watching so closely & seeing all the things the Roosters did like your example & other things the other team did that you feel was not the right call but I don’t watch the game like that, I just accept that the game is not perfect.
The players & officals make mistakes but the players are the ones who make the most mistakes. I’m not watching the game & coming away so frustrated by how it’s been reffed, I actually wouldn’t watch the game if I found myself trying to find every mistake made against the Roosters, I think the Chooks are good but they are not the best, Penrith are & that’s why Penrith won yesterday not because Keary might have knocked back & they should have looked at it. The Chooks are not at the Penrith level they are not at the top 4 level & people should realize that the Chooks are not Premiership material.
People on here talk up & say how good Egan Butcher is & that he should be in the run on side when in all honesty he’s done nothing the 2 backrowers for the Cowboys are heaps better than him & have got no hype. I think overall Lip that a lot of Roosters players are overrated & that is coming out in their performances.
Just wandering if we had Rads, Sitili and Verrills in and they had Yeo, Api and Kikau out whether we would look like premiership material and them not.

The ball is out and Nat kicks it through and grounds it. To me looks like a try but it's not even looked at - we get a penalty as they tackled Joe in the air however I think they should have looked closely at it for a try. Anyone else think that?
100% was a try. Even in normal speed I thought it was def worth a look. After watching a replay it.was a try

So do you think the Roosters are as good or if not better than Penrith if the Roosters are at full strength?

          Not even a difficult decision - 100 % try.

But our guys didn't sell it!!

Or was that because Sutton blew the penalty the moment he realised a try was possible.

Yeah okay Mick but I didn't say the chooks were robbed or should have won or will win anything this year - I think we are a mile off contending this year but I do hope for improvement.

I was just asking did anyone see that moment and think it should have been looked at more closely. No sour grapes Mick they beat us by 20 with us getting a consolation six points at the death. We were good for 60 mins however so it wasn't a disaster.

You're getting unbalanced trying to be so level Mick

No hype? I think you are talking about nanai, luki, and gilbert. No hype about any of those? Are you sure, particularly about the first one mentioned? Let's see how well they go next week against the pamfers. As for the Roosters, to use Robbo speak, they got what they deserved.

I'm with you on this. The pamfers have been kissed on the pecker by an angel, what with their being able to trot out largely the same team for many weeks.

A bit from column A and a bit from column B.

Another example of "our guys didn't sell it" is Roosters players not struggling hard to get up to play the ball to "sell" the perception they're being held down and potentially drawing set restarts/penalties from the game managers. As for sutton, the less said, the better.

Yeah, not sure why our guys don't do a bit of old fashioned ground humping and leg thrashing after being tackled - it get results, no doubt. But Robbo refuses to coach them to do it.

                          • I never had any real opinions on the Riff, but after Saturday night's game they are getting under my skin a little bit.
Firstly the Liam Martin hit by SST, around the shoulders, but Martin milks the penalty by pretending he is hit in the face.
Martin comes up laughing after the penalty is awarded.
Secondly, Fisher- Harris gets hit by a stray arm from JWH when he scores that try , but you can tell that JWH realises it is high, and takes the full impact out of the contact.
That is vindicated by the MRC- nothing to see here - despite Sutton blowing an 8 point try and putting JWH on report. .
Fisher- Harris is on the ground wincing and closing his eye for ages after the try, and even gets up and walks back contorting his face.
I thought Fisher -Harris was a front rower- not a Wuss.
Thirdly, when Momirovski scores his try, Angus is the decoy runner, but Cleary obviously runs at him and hits him with his arm, and falls down, trying to milk the bunker into ruling an obstruction.
I hate this stuff- its a blight on the game.
Maybe Ivan Cleary sent his team to Actors Studio Guild in the USA , during the off season.
It seems to have worked- I am expecting a Panfers player to win an Oscar for "Best Actor" at the next Academy Awards night.

They showed they can compete with for long periods when NOT at full strength, and hopefully we get to find out around September time. As parramatta had shown, the panthers are beatable.

Well said. Another thing I've noticed recently is that their stupid carry-on after scoring tries appears to be spreading to other teams.
