  • As someone said that time before half time was huge. With the Riff you need to go with them.

    • Encouraging that it was 2 tries a piece in the 2nd half.
That capitulation in the last 10 minutes of the first half really punished us.

      • Gone from 4th to 7th on the ladder.
A real chance of dropping to 8th if the Rabbits win tomorrow.

We must have watched a different game. If he was disinterested he wouldn’t have chased hard for 70 of those 80 metres.

              • Liked May. He should be a permanent starter. With him Verril and Radley we may have done a lot better. But we really tried. Some tackles they laid on us but no 6 again. Referee gets 6/10. We weren’t disgraced. But still I would say we are rebuilding and it won’t happen this year.

Hasn’t been a strong suit of any of our Forwards over the last decade,so fits right in.

                  • Stats can be misleading but i would say the last 15 or so of the First half was where the game was won and lost.

The errors certainly mounted during this period and Penrith don't need an invitation to capitalise on these.- 3 converted tries to lead 18-0 at Half time

Interesting to note in the second half the Roosters average play the ball speed was 3.20 seconds compared to 2.42 seconds in the first half - why would that be so - Penrith given more time in the tackle?

I’d agree the first 6/7 rounds but he was excellent last week & couldn’t say anything bad about him tonight. He kicked ok & I think he tackled well & defended strongly. No room for him tonight but that’s not his fault.

Yeah but then accept that for the next 2/3 seasons that we won’t be a top 4 side then. They will be good in a few years but still too inexperienced atm & far too much same same for me. None are really stepping up and taking a stranglehold on their positions.

The Panthers have lost like 5 games over the two and a half years. They're borderline unbeatable and utterly toweled Melbourne up last week, too. A lot of the effort tonight was extremely good, but the reality is they're just better than us at the moment.

I think I saw enough to be optimistic if we run into them come finals time. They're going to rightfully be favourites against anyone they play for the rest of the season, but we don't need to reinvent the wheel to beat them. Just need a healthy squad, some more improvement, and a bit of luck on the day we play them.

Thought JWH, Suaalli and Toops were all exceptional. May certainly looked handy, as well. Definitely can't fall back on that side-to-side attack that we do sometimes. That won't ever work against the Panthers. They're too fit and disciplined. Gotta keep punching through, and we have a strong enough pack to do it later on the in the season.
Agree on a few points as they are a great side & the players you listed had great games. But Never in my mind did I think we would win as they are just a cut above the comp. They are dead set certainties to win B2B & we are a fair way off them as apart from Rads we were full strength tonight & they just rode out the 1st 20 mins then stepped up when needed.

                          • The Panthers are the best team in the comp & watching them live tonight makes me so envious of them.
They are what the Roosters were in 2018 & 2019. They will go back to back.

Watson offers nothing in any position in my opinion. He has no passing game.

We must have watched a different game. If he was disinterested he wouldn’t have chased hard for 70 of those 80 metres.
Yeah I can’t put any blame on Angus tonight. Wasn’t brilliant but I thought he went ok.
