Stop playing non hookers at 9

Losing my mind with this BS with our number 9. You have a ready made hooker who can play 80 in Marschke. Even Lussick could have played the 9 role. I’d even go so far to say I would rather Lam at 9. Cannot for the life of me understand Hutchison at 9 rotating with Connor. Hutchison isn’t fit enough, nor is quick enough off the mark. Connor isn’t a 9 at all, a bit like when Radley played 9 a few years back for us. People ripping into him saying he’s not been a good signing, the guy can’t have an impact in the game if he’s gassed making tackles and following around the ball in attack. Connor either at 13 or off the bench. Hutchison left right out. Get a hooker in, someone who is quick out of the mark and can pass a damn ball. It’s so frustrating.

You are so right. Our attack is poor because our first receiver has to wait for the ball. Throws timing off outside. I called this throughout the game last night. Although Hutchinson tries hard he is too slow.

I like Hutch. Just not at 9. IMO, he should be used more as a utility like in Aubusson’s early days.

The Hutch hatred is misguided. We were right in the game until he went off. You can't blame him at all for the loss.

Without Sam and Rads we are lost in attack.

I havnt been the biggest Hutch fan but we looked better last night when he was playing hooker.
offers another kicking option from dummy half which was working well for the first 30 minutes or so.
I think he is our best option at hooker atm.

Maybe we could use hutch as a ball playing/kicking lock whilst rads is out and yes he should be able to get 80 playing that role. If his boot is needed and I think it is it's needed all game not for half of it.

Then put Marschke in at 9.

Why not it might take a month to build up to it but I think if Verrills is unavailable stick with hutch full time
Watson is more athlete then footballer while Hutch is the complete opposite....
I think Watson should be used to bring some energy around the ruck when teams are tiring.

I liked how Marshke played last year, NFI why he has not got a run this year. Love the little bit of niggle/grub he has in him as well.

What about giving Lam a go at Hooker? At least he's a bit more zippy/creative from dummy half & done sort of ok in the past apart from his tendency to find the ground with passes sometimes.

verrills being out is a big loss, both for what he offers at dh and cos we can't use watson in the best way but hutch is going alright. marschke did better than expected last year but has a few errors in him.

lol yeh I'm not sure more minutes for Hutchinson is the call, bloke gasses very quickly. He's not very fit.
