Gould has too much to lose by taking the job on. I mean that from a pride level. If he took the job and did not succeed...something he could not handle. I think he might be happy with sitting in a cosy commentary box and putting his 2 cents worth in for a $2000 return....good coin.

Recruiting players here and there is just a tint part of that. Coaching and Cultural change is the biggie. No matter what quality of players we recruit, under the current coaching and fitness structure success is a long way off.
Our squad also requires a total change of attitude and discipline, on and off the field.
Most need a solid injection of pride and respect for the Club they represent. Fittler may be classed as a "club legend" but he's failed miserably in that regard.
Until all the above happens get used to par performances.
