I got no doubt that even though they don't say it publicly the roosters feel like they get the rough end of the pineapple with certain refs. That was pent up frustration from JWH with the treatment that Sutton has dished out for years.

But for mine, the fact that he was not charged for the contact shows that the 8 point try decision was complete BS. Suaalli got smacked across the head by Burton when he was attempting to score the winning try, and didn’t even get a penalty. Jas gets an 8 point try awarded against him for SFA.

He wasn’t swearing at the referee - more a case of the incident at the time.
Speak up JWH - and prove what an absolute tool and how discriminate this Sutton is (and the same goes for Klein, Cummins etc). Then and if he wins - maybe the refs might give him a break - good luck with that.

No point challenging it, but I'm glad he did what he did, to be honest. And also glad Robbo basically backed him up.
The level at which he is unfairly scrutinized is ridiculous. He has plenty of grub in him don't get me wrong, and Roosters fans love him for it, but so do many, many other forwards who don't get 1/4 of the negative attention, suspensions, penalties, bad press etc as Jared does.

He may have scored some brownie points by calling out the ref who will think twice when he calls a game next time.
Move on !
- Is a lazy high shot an 8 point try? First time I've ever seen that...
- Should you get 10 in the bin for swearing at the ref? No.
- Above all... should JWH have chased the ref, sarcastically told him to put him on report, asserted that it happens 'every time' and thrown an f-bomb out there? NO! We're better than that.
My stance is that you don't do it because you lose your high-ground. Had JWH done nothing then IMO there would be valid discussion going on about why he was sin-binned.
Instead, everybody's just laughing at him for being a clown and saying 'he deserved it anyway the grub, shoulda been suspended... Easts get too much generous treatment'.

I think this bodes well for the rest of 2022.
JWH usually begins each season with multiple fines, send offs and charges. He then settles into the season and finishes as one of the best players in the NRL.1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

All the comments from other teams supporters are along the line that JWH is a grub and should have been sent off, this stuff gets us nothing.
I know how frustrating it must be for him but he has a target on his head as do a few other players and not just from our club, you can't help human nature, Refs are not computers they will make controversial calls.
I can guarantee you, every supporter from every club is addiment that their club is hard done by the Refs.
Our problem is Robbo has taken the high ground and wont let our players take a dive, hence the penalty discrepancy. A stance I support but we get zero compassion from other clubs, supporters or the NRL.

i don't think he swore at the ref - he swore while talking to the ref. there's a difference. fining players for swearing on the field is like handing speeding tickets out at a grand prix and not something that is normally done.
if you take the swearing out was it worth a fine? i don't think so - don't see it as any different from someone saying 'that's the third time you've penalised us for slowing down the ruck but you don't penalise the other team', or the like.
but there was no way jwh would have got off so better to plead guilty and save the difference.

I hear you, but its not a JWH issue.
It's a Club v NRL bias issue.
