  • Official - Taukeiaho to Depart Roosters

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Siosiua Taukeiaho will be departing the Club at the conclusion of the 2022 NRL season.

Taukeiaho will be leaving the Roosters to take up a two-year opportunity with French Super League club Catalans Dragons.

“The Sydney Roosters has been my home for almost ten years, I love the Club and the people in it. There have been some special times and I’m looking forward to creating many more memories during the rest of this season,” said Taukeiaho.

“Joining Catalans Dragons is an exciting opportunity for me and my family, but that’s ahead in 2023.

“I’m pleased to have my future sorted but my only focus for the remainder of 2022 is doing my best for the Sydney Roosters and paying the jersey the respect it deserves each week I wear it,” he added

I know this isn't a shock to anyone but now officially announced. He has been an integral part of our forward pack for a long time and will be sorely missed next year.

At only 30 I think he has some good years still left in him. Who knows, he might be back on a cheap one year deal down the line.

Add in JWH and were have lost a lot of experience in the last few seasons. Thankfully we have Robbo at the helm, and some young guys like Manu who will carry on the culture.

Damn sad to see him go. Warriors didnt want him & he turned out to be a Great club man for us.

Spoken to him in person before & is a really nice bloke. Really hitting home now on all the legends we have lost, & will still lose.

Our recent Golden Generation is approaching the end.
