In an effort by the Roosters to keep Nate Myles occupied and hopefully off the drink, they have started a Job Placement program.

Nate has been employed at the Coogee Bay Hotel as a Dessert Chef !!!!

stimpy you idiot, you're an idiot. there are plenty of hard working honest and grossly underpaid police officers out there. just like its unfair to say **** nrl players they are on a power trip, its unfair to say the same of police, in particular your comments on their racial predjudice.

here in l.a. the cops have "to protect and to serve" on their cars. the question is, who and what it is exactly that they are protecting and serving.

i didn't say it was never systematic, in some organisations it quite possibly is, but there are good cops out there that put their lives on the line to "protect and serve" our community and its attitudes like yours that make their jobs difficult. do you think its reasonable that a footballer earns 400K a season for playing football but a cop earns 50k a year and gets shot at, abused, spat on and harrassed? i'm not disagreeing that cops make mistakes, charges get laid and decisions made that are unjust, but its tiring reading the same old "corrupt cop hates aboriginals and works only for the man" line.

I totally agree that durting the season they should keep their body as healthy as they can.


However compared to some elite athletes that are mentioned along side them NRL players are getting paid peanuts. Our game is just not big enough for that type of elite to come through, some players believe in playing to be the best they can but most play for the cash. Obviously they see their pay as not enough incentive to build themselves to the best condition that they can and stay off alcohol.

If you really want to look what an amazing athlete looks like, look at NFL or the NBA. Their players work on their body from every angle, it so so much more advanced than what we have that it's ridiculous. However due to the large playing rosters you do get a lot of thugs.

It's funny, because if the players are caught with something over there, it is usually coke or x, due to the perception that those drugs don't leave a mark on the body as opposed to alcohol.

An NFL player tested positive to a performance enhancer this week, he was suspended for 4 games only, of course he was innocent it was taken accidently.

An ex-NFL player was involved in a murder suicide this week also.

Its almost a weekly occurance in the US, NFL players and law breaking. IMO roid rage is rampant over there.

i was just listening to sports today on the radio, and brandy made a very good point.

the boys hearts were in the right place going out to mingle with the kids on a saturday nights, in their own time. therefore its a shame that the spotlight has been put on all the other players and the club aswell as nate myles.

his behaviour is inexcusiable. if this incident did not occur, the club would have probably been praised for attending the function.

Just because someone is charged or even convicted doesn't mean jack shit, ask anyone of Aboriginal descent on the 'holy trinity' - offensive language, resist arrest, assault police. In the process of engaging in petty harrassment, the poor fellow says a naughty word (offensive language); the cop then attempts to detain them and they pull away (resist arrest), then the cop wrestles them to the ground and knees them in the head (assault police). Ask any lawyer who works at a legal centre about this one.

Now days its just not a particular race, cops put up with shit from all sorts.
In my books, if you swear at a copper as he is walking past, you deserve a kick up the arse. If a cop asks you a few questions maybe even questions your integrity, its not hard to keep your mouth shut.
Mostly its about people being arseholes and in some cases it isn't the coppers.

As someone said...a top sportsman does not drink as much as they do, especially when recovering from a "tummy bug".

ROFLOL, when I was a youngster my mate had a dog who used to do the old "ring drag" often.

Nothing funnier when one night we were all on it and he left a trail on the cream carpet. I almost pissed my pants that night. I wish we had mobiles with cameras in those days.

Id use Nate and Julian O'Neill as lead actors with a guest spot from Schlossy and his cable shoes.
