I loved the SFS, and I want to go to a game at this new stadium. I am seriously thinking of getting the best seats available for our first game there this year, which looks like being the game against Souths on September 2nd. It will mean driving to Sydney, I would leave here at Paradise Point at about 4 am and get into Sydney around 2pm Friday afternoon, I've found that's about the best time to arrive there for traffic conditions and ease of booking into accomodation. I haven't been to a live game for about 10 years now, that was at Suncorp. I just wonder if the ground announcing, music etc will spoil the experience.

But going to old run down grounds like Leichhardt Oval, Campbelltown, Belmore Oval, Brooky Oval...etc.. shouldn't charge more than $20 per adult to get wet & use disgusting toilets.

I will be going from a silver membership, sitting in Bay 14 on the halfway line, about 10 rows behind the players bench, on the Western Side, to possibly sitting on the 10 metre line on the Eastern side, facing the sun on albeit the rare day games and paying a lot more than I use to.
It's a bit hard selling that benefit. The people benefiting from the stadium are the corporate supporters and the builders who received our tax dollars to pay for it. For which we are slugged again as users of the ground.
Face it our silver and bronze memberships were always undepriced for the seats we were paying for. I don't agree with everything the club has done around it for example removing gold seating around the tunnel is a cop out - that should 100% be members seats but if you want your old seat near the half way line that should 100% be gold class seating - that's just common sense. I'm sure you can still get that seat, you'll just have to pay appropriately for it.
As for tax dollars, I agree I think the private sector should fund stadium builds. But I'm supporting my football club, who cares about the politics of it - no matter which party you vote for they all would've pissed it up a wall.

Completely understand that the corporates need to be looked after but it doesn’t seem right that they get the best seats in the house when most are just there for the free food and drinks and don’t even follow The Roosters or even like the game. But yes the club needs them and their contribution is valuable.

Cat 1 seats at the new parra stadium are like $90 for a single game. There is no way our gold tickets (cat 1 equivalent) will be anything less than $50 per game

I think SCG membership is about $750 per year? Surely they can’t make it more than that

However since the build of the new stadium they have restructured the membership packages completely - those that were already in still get the same deal as they used to but you can't get those Gold or Platinum packages anymore. The old buy in used to be for your lifetime and for gold you could pass it on once and in platinum case for perpetuity ie you could pass through the family indefinitely as long as you kept paying the yearly subs. You can't get that deal anymore.
they now have three different packages that are not as good either twice as expensive as the old platinum or gold or offer less ie you can't use the additional facilities like the gym pool spa tennis and squash courts etc. none of the new packages can be passed on and one of them - the cheapest one only has a five year lifespan.
anyway check it all out before you make your decision not to join the Roosters

Go to the menu and look at " new products " and you will see the details of the new packages available however they have still yet to tell us what the new yearly subs will be.

yeah I got the email on the new packages from the SCG. They have a high buy in but the annual fees are still good. You still also get a guest pass with your membership so only need 1 membership for a couple.
wasn’t aware of having to buy in again after 5 years? I’ll check on that portion as that would change things. Although they still have the normal waiting list system and I’m about 15 years into that wait so tossing up between waiting it out and just paying to skip the line.
if easts place their season tickets at the annual scg membership price then it makes SCG membership make sense since the wife and I also go to a lot of cricket in the summer
