There's a very good chance Stephen Kearney will be looking for a job soon.

That wouldn't surprise me. I sent a text to someone from here the other day when it was announced that Luke Burt was dropped to Wenty. Don't they want points on the board? Parra are such a rabble. My parents must be turning in their graves at the state of their beloved Eels.

No, Paul, I dont think that is the case. What I believe is that after the Bennett deal went bad (and he had already convinced Politis to let Sticky go), we signed Anderson in desperation which led us to promote Freddy before he was ready to be a head coach, which led Politis to sign Mason to give Freddy the best possible chance at success, which let a cancer into our club - and we all know how that ended.

Smith was the first deliberate coaching choice by our club since Bennett and coincides with a clear strategy of player development - Smith is a coach known for being able to do this. I should also note that I believe that making the GF in 2010 actually slowed Smith's progress down by serving to paper over our long term problems.

We are recovering from a period where the club was completely buggered post Ricky and that takes time. I strongly believe we have stabilised and are moving forward. I also believe there are no quick solutions and we will wear more pain before it gets good again.

In relation to Pearce, my opinion is that he is still very young, he has not been well served by the coaching and club instability but has consistently put in and he will rise as this club rises.

Felt sorry for Hindy after the game, the man was shattered. Maybe he just didnt want to talk to Gasnier, I can understand that as well.

I'll also add that I am 100% behind Smithy as coach. We need him to see this rebuilding phase through and with a bit of luck he will win his first premiership at the RW&B. We have just played round TWO people. Take a deep breath and calm down.

I wish Smith all the best with our club & I hope he wins a comp with us but I dont believe that will happen. I think his contract should be honoured but beyond that I feel the Roosters need to get Bellamy under HIS terms.

I know people will disagree but to me Bellamy is like a professor of footy. Watching tonights game the likes of Matt Duffie who the Roosters should seriously go after as a FB replacemen, Justin O'Neill who is top shelf, please tell me he is not a QLD, Anthony Quinn, Widdop, Lowrie & Hinchcliffe are playing first class footy, they are no frills, no mistake, high work rate players. I credit Bellamy for that.

They still have Nielsen & Will Chambers both SOO centres to come into the side. Duffie, O'Neill, Chambers, Nielson, Norrie, Bromwich, Manu, Hoffman, Proctor & of course the big 3 have all been developed by the Storm recruiting system which Bellamy would have a big say in. Plus the astute buying of other clubs rejects shows me he is a top coach, he is cutting edge & he has been doing it with the Storm since 2006.

Im not saying he would bring premierships to the Roosters but watching the Storm under his coaching, develop top class players whilst releasing top class players & never seeming to be in a rebuilding phase is unbelievable, I highly rate him. What he achieves at the Storm is incredible. Adding to that they play out of an AFL mad state where league hardly gets a mention just shows me how much work & dedication Bellamy must put in. Only my opinion folks.

Valid points Mickey, and I agree 100% about the 'professor of footy' analogy. Bellemy or some of his family come from the small town of Portland near Lithgow (where some of my family live) and my old man talks to one of his mates from Portland and he can confirm Bellemy is obsessed with winning. He will spend hours pouring over videos, makes enormous sacrifices for his footy team and has not had an "off season" in years. Many see his tactics as dirty or boring, but I remember back to when we had our pack hunters under Stuart and how we were lambasted for those tactics of getting multiple tackles into the tackle. And I also remember how much of a fark we didn't give about what others said cause we were winning!

I'd gladly pay Bellemy to feel that way again.

                      Chook.

Kane is not the difference but he was a solid step towards building a good backline, he is a big boyu hard to handle he creates oppertunites offloads breaks tackles....I think you need a big strong back 5 or u get dominated.

Here we go with the Bellamy love again. Bellamy is an over rated cheat. Give any coach the rosters he has had and they will premierships. He has still won NOTHING that counted.

And what is annoying me most is that his players are now breaking records which were established by fair and honest players in the past. Very easy to be a world beater when you were part of an illegally assembled team for a number of years.
