In their limited minutes I think both DSF and May have shown why they aren't getting a stack of minutes yet.

Reserve grade is a long way off first grade, maybe more so than ever before. You can just tell they are off the pace when they are on the field.

You don’t learn NRL by not playing it though

it’s more of a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation

There's also no evidence that you learn NRL by playing big minutes early on in your career, it can be quite damaging.

May has made more than his fair share of mistakes in his limited minutes so far, he needs to prove he can go away and fix those cracks in his game before earning more minutes. Robinson has always brought his forwards on like this and his track record on forward development speaks for itself.

One thing I have learned in my years involved in Rugby League (approaching the half century mark now) is that no matter what you do, there is somebody out there who thinks they could have done it better.

I do sometimes wonder about some of the decisions that might be made by our coaching staff, but I wouldn't even think to be critical of them. We have absolutely no idea what goes on behind the scenes, during the week at training or what is being said behind closed doors. Our coach has won three premierships and and three club championships, something not many other coaches can lay claim to. I will defer to his decision making well above anybody esle's including mine when it comes to picking and coaching the Roosters team.
