Apparently the NRL raise more money by playing it in the middle of the season instead of post season. So doubt SOO will be moved from it's current slot in the calendar

I think it should be in the middle of the season anyway when players are at their best. After the end of the season and they would be winding down and it wouldn’t be as much of a spectacle.
I do think how it’s played or scheduled should be tinkered with though. Maybe suspend the comp and play it over three weeks in a row but not sure if it should be Wednesday’s or weekends. I think weekends would make it a more seemless process.FVCK CANCER

I cant believe even know NSW lost which I hate that some can watch 34 men go hammer and tong for 80 min and smash the crap out of each other for love of state and some say they dont care . Dam hard to please . I am currently in our Brisbane townhouse loving the warm 22 deg days but always go the Blues . Been to 3 SOO at Suncorp / Lang but never once felt threatened . They bloody love the banter .

Stand alone weekends make sense from a player recovery point of view. It would also allow for more Pacific internationals during those weeks. However like the post season debate its all down to the $$$$. The NRL claim that it would make the season longer and players need a long off season etc. However having it on a Wednesday night during prime time is a goldmine for c9, and in turn the NRL. More than 3million televisions sets tuned in across Australia for the game the other night. No free to air network gets that kind of viewership on a normal week night
I don’t think the length of the off season is really their concern and most clubs only get a month off at best from the the end of their season before pre season starts up again. It would only be putting it back by 3 weeks anyway which I don’t think would have that much of a dramatic effect.
