I don't the see point in allowing teams to pass the ball along the line at will without putting any pressure on then to make decisions when in possession .
The defence will always be susceptible to angle runs or players straightening up the attack as the defenders are somewhat flat footed as the ball carriers have the all the running and momentum.

Positives from tonight - Rooster forwards played well, and they were tight.
Our forward pack matched theirs - NAS , Bromwich x 2, Kafusi, Grant & Cheese .
A wonderful effort guys - I thought Collins & Gus went very well.
Not so good - we got killed in the backs - particularly our left side.
Storm seemed to run at will , and go to their right hand edge , and it seemed they constantly scored there.
I was at the game at ground level , so its not so easy to make out the culprits , so I will need to watch the replay.
Nonetheless , I am now starting to agree with lots on the chookpen - Robbo has to make changes
Leaking 28 points (all through the backline ???) just isn't good enough.
Perhaps give AK a go - you never know - if someone is given an opportunity , they may take it with both hands.
Otherwise , give BMoz or JMoz and emergency call - we miss these guys so much.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to see our backs drive in hard with the shoulder, when making tackles - it would be a welcome change !!!

I thought we could have easily won that game, and we were at least equal to Melbourne, probably better for most of the game. Losing Keary was a massive loss for us. Kafusi should get time for his blatant elbow to the head on Walker, he has form for this type of grubby gutless stuff.
TKO, Gus, Butch and Lindsay all went well, the halves went well
If we can get Verrrills back to replace Watson and maybe Smith to replace Momi then we could still have a chance in the semis.
Players who certainly need to improve are Watson....so many mistakes from dummy half, and Momi, seems lost in defence and lacks penetration in attack and Fifita still learning and maybe trying too hard.
If we can get this team on the field fit for the semis we could have a chance against anyone.
Teddy, Toops, Joey, Smithy, JS, Keary, Walker, Rads, Angus, Sitili, JWH, Verrills, Lindsay.......TKO, Butch, Baker, May? Hutch? Watson?

not what you want from a backrower in the first set.

There was a weird (probably trained) technique going on there IMO. Bromwich tried acting all innocent at all when somebody lost the ball after one. The ref saw him and pinged it though.

Until he can defend his left centre space he's not really our left centre answer.
Now that our season is basically over, it's time to recruit for the position.
Smith, Keighran, Whyte, Gus, Radley, Atoni, Sitili, Lam, Hutch, E Butcher, anyone and everyone must be tried.
When holding trials big Jack said, straight up...
"If you can't tackle don't bother ringing up"..

Another one to add to their list.
Hopefully the viewing of matches, the big screens and the PA system in the new stadium will be a lot better than at the SCG.Last edited by bondi.boy; 06-12-2022, 09:49 AM.
