The Sydney Roosters can provide the following update regarding Luke Keary.

Keary sustained a concussion in the Sydney Roosters Round 14 match against the Melbourne Storm.

He has shown improvement overnight and his progress will continue to be monitored throughout the week as he undergoes the necessary protocols.

I hope I’m not reading too much into it but I feel like it’s more of a mental barrier for Keary at this stage than it is a medical one. I hope I’m not wrong but he’s looked really timid this year, not sure if it’s the mental barrier of the ACL or the head knocks or a bit of both but just the way he jumps back when he’s kicking the ball as a defender puts pressure on him or the way he seems to be really inconsistent this year in regards to running into the line with his ball playing, the aggression only seems to come out of him when we’re behind on the scoreboard and he’s starting to get pissed off.

Thought it was some of the best footy I’ve seen him play in a long time the first half hour of the Storm game, we didn’t look the same in attack after he went off.

Something that hasn’t been spoken about much this year is just how many howlers Taukeiaho has made in defence, again on the weekend very soft try up the middle and there was nothing that special about it just a simple missed tackle from Taukeiaho. His lateral defence really seems to have declined a lot of the last couple of seasons.

His go forward this year has been tremendous but I wonder how many more simple misses Robbo allows before we start to his minutes and role in the team diminish.

I have got my fingers crossed that Luke Keary comes through this latest concussion issue OK.
He is a champion Rooster, great player and seems to be a really nice bloke.
The recent medical issues like the ACL, and even more , past concussion, means he is playing with one arm tied behind his back.
The fact that the guy is still playing at first grade standard speaks heaps about his footballing ability.

Not sure if he and butcher work in tandem, because butcher has missed a fair few this year too, could fitzy leaving really have disrupted the D that badly?

Seve ran right over N Butcher and kept going downfield.
N Butcher needs be on the bench with Sitili and come on when the sting has gone out of the game.
We need to start the game with BIG players, buy some, we have 3 spots left before Aug 1st.
Big players who can at least tackle a determined Seve head on.
