Dreading next week

Keep the faith my friend. That's why you are Easts4life! This year will be a rollercoaster because they are young and so many of them have a mistake or 2 in them. If its the Storm next week then I don't expect to win. But if we defend like we did today, hold onto the ball & don't give away stupid penaltys, then fasten your seat belts

Massive improvement from last week, simply because we had a crack.

I will take high error rates over useless impotency any day of the week. Even when JWH fuucked up that offload in the first set (I think it was him?), I knew we were in for a better day than last week against Penriff.

If we can do this every week including GF week then I won't complain.

I think we defended superbly (particularly some of those under-rated guys like Carney and Mini) but completely over-played our attack. We actually got some decent line breaks there on 2nd/3rd tackles that we COULD have built on. What did we do? We either knocked it on or tempted fate by continuously offloading as if we were 5m out and on the last tackle.

IMO we really just need some more simple attacking moves where the big men grind it up the middle + draw in players so the halves can kick it out to the wing on the 4th/5th.

Get some territory + completions up THEN do all the offloads and dangerous runs on the 5th (or 4th IF IT'S SMART!!! NOT JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!!)

This has been us for the last 5 years with a blip in the middle with Carnage at least being able to pull off most of his freakish tricks (rather than looking dumb/rushed.)

I'm glad someone else noticed that. His arm grabs and poor reads make Ryan Cross look like the best defender of all time.

We played against ourselves and the refs (for 70% off the calls) yet pulled out a win. We did not hold the ball but on the rare occasions we did we looked good. We butchered three more tries that honestly on any other day against any other team we'd have scored.

It's a work in progress but things look better than last week. IF we hold the ball we can construct some plays, I saw that today.
