Brandon Smith took a dive after a harmless tap, got it looked at and bunker intervened to march Storm downfield, from which they scored.

Our playmaker gets taken out of the game with a deliberate elbow to the head, no penalty, and the NRL slaps us in the face with this.

I'm getting pretty sick of us continually turning the other cheek in the name of the "roosters' way", and refusing to dive. It earns us no kudos and costs us games.

I reckon Bellamy would appear far less 'smart' if the NRL just called the shyte he coaches players to do 'dangerous contact' rather than allowing it for 5 years, waiting for a media debate, sending it to a committee (where Bellamy chairs the coaches' voice) and then making some weirdarse rule change that significantly changes the way we play by over-policing of random, unrelated shyte (by which time Bellamy will have thought up a new kind of dangerous contact anyway).

We ban dangerous contact for a reason. IMO refs need more power to call what they see and know they'll be backed up if it's appealed.
Refs are all gun-shy and/or scared of blowback from NRL media figures and officials ... hence majority of them are no better than Under 7s refs that officiate weekend kids footy games

I know it's frustrating but really, look at our 3 premierships in the past decade..plus going back to back like no other club since the 1990's,,,you know the minute a Roosters player did take a dive, it would be replayed ad nauseam for days, weeks, even months later..Plus I don't think Nick or Trent would approve..leave that to rubbish teams..we don't need to sink that low..I'd rather we lost with dignity than have a tainted win..those player surveys still often have us as the number one or two team they want to come and play for..says a lot really..

Thats footy & if you can do something like that & get away with good luck to him.
I like the way Kaufsi plays & so do the rep coaches.

              For sure!

IMO the game didn't come down to the Cheese milking that penalty. It came down to defensive flaws and an inability to ice something like 3 or 4 tries.

Milking penalties wouldn't have improved our performance. If anything I think it kills defensive structures. Every week I see tries get scored uncontested because some goose has decided to lie down or raise their arms to say 'WHAAAAT?!? C'MON THAT WAS A PENALTY!!!'

I reckon that Robbo's correct in coaching players to play what's in front of them because we wanna be looking to take advantage of what's there... not sit back and whine about what's not there while the world sails by, unphased by our rambling.

Sadly, it’s part of the game now. It shouldn’t be but it is. We are getting left behind by sitting on our high horse.

They wouldn't oblige us any way if we went so deep as if to bring up pearls.

Lord Angus copped a crusher on the weekend, got up doing the ol wince and rub of his noggin and they didn't give a shit.

Manu literally had to walk out of the line and disrupt the game after latrell caved his face in before ANYONE (bunker, touchie ref) did a thing, copped a spray from Klein too.

Diving is not going to keep us "up with the joneses"

No decent player would want a clip of themselves diving or milking a penalty as part of their highlights reel come retirement. Wouldn't you rather support a team who can still win premierships despite the opposition diving, not actively participating in that crap and stooping to their level? Jack Gibson would not have stood for it and neither does Trent or Nick. Look at the 6 again debacle..that decision had no bearing on the 2019 grand final outcome as Canberra never once lead that game nor could they score a point whilst CC was in the bin..yet that is all people seem to remember...could you imagine if the Roosters won a premiership off the back of penalties milked for?

Have only heard Souths fans say that about JWH in the past.
