I saw Reynolds crying in front of me after the game and yelled out 'WHAT ARE YOU CRYING ABOUT?!?!? GO SAY SORRY TO COOPER YOU GRUB!!!' He looked up at me with a pretty broken looking face.

But Burton , there is a guy to chase.
I watch the Parra/ Dogs game last night - Burton absolutely tormented Parra with his kicking game.
Spiralling punt kicks that reach the stratosphere, really difficult for anyone to catch them
Then he placed the ball on a dime for Addo - Carr to score.
Just like he tormented the Roosters when we played the Dogs.
Burton is quick as well , elusive sidestep, a great ball runner and great defender
Centre threequarter ? Do we need one? Five- eigth ?
Just what you need in a player.
There's also another huge factor: Burton is a lot younger than the likes of Moses and Munster.
Yes he would cost a lot but he'd be a long-term investment.

Thank you for your kind words Flipper. I remember you and I worked on some stats many years ago about penalty counts. Years later, a manager on a project I was working on asked me how I knew about pivot tables in spreadsheets. I said a guy I spoke to via a Roosters forum showed me what it was all about and he said he was a Roosters fan too and mentioned those penalty counts you and I were collecting. He rang my manager and said I need this girl on my team..she knows what she's talking about her so I am poaching her for my project...
Thanks to you for taking the time all those years ago to show me what a pivot table was, I actually ended up using it for work and made a friend for life at work.

The thing is neither Benji or Shaun Johnson came into First Grade with a clue about organizing a football team. They had never done it in their juniors and were off the cuff footballers. Sam Walker has played halfback all his life and has been the organizer in every team he has played, albeit at an inferior level. The comparison between those 2 and Walker just isn't relevant. Walker has a hell of a lot higher footballing IQ than they ever had and they are not a benchmark to compare to. I can't see what Walker could learn from Moses apart from choking under pressure.

The former Cowboy said that it took time for him to find his footing at first-grade level and believes the same will happen for 19-year-old Walker.
“Younger players are scrutinised much more now,” Thurston said on Sportsday NSW.
“It was all pretty much instinct those first few years at the Dogs.
“It wasn’t until I actually got to the Cowboys and had full control of the team and was able to earn that respect from the playing group.
“To be able to tell them where to be and execute a game plan.
“That wasn’t until my mid-20’s.
“It’s not until you’re 25 or 26 that you start feeling like you know how to get your team back in the game and know how to close a game.
“It does take a while to do that.
“The scrutiny and the pressure that these young playmakers are on now is unfair.”
Thurston said under-fire Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks is a perfect example of a young playmaker crumbling under the criticism.
Brooks’ performance against the Warriors was highly scrutinised for failing to find a late try against a 12-man Warriors side in the dying moment of their Round 3 loss.
“Look at Luke Brooks who’s played nearly 180 games,” Thurston added.
“He should be in his prime now and knowing how to get his side back in the game with 12-men on the field.
“But it’s a totally different scenario now (with the added pressure).
“It’s not until you start getting to that 85 to 100 game (milestone) where you start to know what you need to do.”

There were also very good first grade level halves such as Craig Coleman, Barry Russell and Greg Alexander (actually he is closer to the first category). These guys had great organizing ability from an early age but in many cases they were extremely creative as well, like Walker. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
