Most talk of the personnel loss which includes Friend, Cordner, Mitchell and the Morris’ however in the short time without them followed the release of Isaac Liu. That loss has impacted greatly on our forwards line up. He played every game last season and was a standout. Also the release of Matterson was a boo boo,he debuted the same season as Nat Butcher.I know who I prefer.
Furthermore, the current style of game is suited to the Angus Crichton of old yet our style of game doesn’t maximise on it.
Both him and Geronimo are coached into a Boyd Cordner running second rower and like Boyd they are getting hammered.
I expect criticism here following this comment as to being racist which is not the case. The game now has a large % of islander players who are dominating the game especially forwards and it’s something the club doesn’t have in top grade.DSF reminds me of the rugby players who aren’t good enough for the All Blacks but then play for the Wallabies.
I’m not convinced with Baker,Butcher Boys, and Watson to take us forward in the coming seasons. The responsibility of that will unfairly rest on Radley, Collins and cheeseburger Smith. I would do a coach Gibbo ( Coote relieved of captaincy in preference of Artie) and give the captaincy to Radley who to me seems more of a team player than the self willed Tedesco.

Baker reminds me of Napa at times with his very slow sideways movement. Nat Butcher is a toiler & has his place. Egan was bending the line really well last year but injuries have affected him this year.

Both Butchers need to get their heads in better tackling positions or they will have short careers.

Blame Manu for running out of the defensive line and often tackling nobody instead of staying in position and tackling the right centre like he's supposed to be doing.

Kept reading Watson isn’t a 9 and is better at 13. Well from what I seen tonight when playing around the middle proved what I thought……Watson offers nothing but confusion to our team. Every time he runs none of our players know what he is doing. Waste of money.

Sounds like he needs a coach to guide him.

Trent?
Are there coaches for the forwards?
Coaches for the backs?
The halves?
Attack coaches?
Defence coaches?
"How to stop offloading by the opposition" coaches?
"How to tackle so you don't end up concussed" coaches.
"How to defend against 'inside passes to big men running straight/angles' coaches?
"How to run the ball over the tryline" coaches.
That slammed all week as being useless, hopeless, pathetic by all and sundry Eels coach Brad Arthur sure worked out how to get his team to attack and slaughter the opposition, us, all the first half when his players were fresh and gifted possession.
That's the attack standard we need to reach to win games.
Every coach playing us from now on will be using the same type of attack.

I find Sitili the most frustrating player to watch. He is as likely to do something special as he is to mess up the basics

Coach him the basics.
He's at training every day, every week, all season.

Or Whyte on the burst, some player who can run hard.

Copy what Eels did in attack in the first half.
Buy players like they have capable of doing that....or we perish.
Manu 5/8, Walker half back, somebody big at right centre who will stay there and keep Suaalii on his wing.
Or Suaalii to right centre and Whyte to right wing.
Or play Hutch on the wing. Or Watson on the wing, Tapuha lock, or hooker.
Things must change...we're losing every game now.
Time for Lam, Whyte, Keighran to be tried.
Keary prop, Radley prop, SST centre, something has to be done to stop what Eels did to us in attack.
No one we had could tackle one on one, stop offloads, kill the ball...stop Eels players from scoring.
They just ran riot.
