Parras attack wasn't brilliant . Our defense was shit .
No we don't expect to win premierships every year but we do expect to compete for them or be competitive
Cant keep living on past glories and neither should we be expected to do so.
As in any business if the employees don't perform find someone that does . They are paid big dollars and expect big performances every week .

Seriously, does every fan expect their team to win the grand final every single year?

I don't follow other sports much apart from taking a passing interest in the UK Super League..how many other teams from other sports have won 3 grand finals in 7 years, 2 back to back? I always said this season was going to remind me of 2016 and looks like I was right..it's unsustainable to expect a team to win every single year..
I doubt any serious fan thinks that their team can win every year. You just hold out hope and have a realistic expectation.
For me this season it's more the frustration that we aren't playing anywhere near our best nor are we consistent. I don't think that it is wrong to feel that way. Especially when our club set high standards for themselves.
As passionate fans of the ROOSTERS (we aren't supporting numbnut teams like the tigpies, dogs, nz or the titans that have no hope) we expect our team to win the majority of the time and be a serious threat to the premiership. We aren't playing like that this season
Not meeting the high expectations that the club has set for itself is for me anyway the disappointing part of this season. But it's also what should drive us to success down the track. With our coach and talent our premiership window will still be open next season. With the culture of the club and uncle Nick running the joint that window (I expect) will remain open constantly. As Robbo said. "We play for premierships every year" For fans I thinks its okay to be disappointed when we get a season where we don't live up to that.

You’re wrong there. Ray is 100% on the money.

This ‘we’ll just slowly play our way into the season’ has to stop. It’s not working. I’ve said it before. It’s bred lazy players who can’t play 80mins of footy but rather play in moments.

Its almost at a point where Robbo has reached a precipice of time.

Yeah the argument's like the Doggies sacking Hasler because they came 12th.

We're doing poorly and that's now VERY clear. But, things could be a lot worse... with new coaches every year, related rumours and us sitting nowhere near the top-8.

Brandon Smith played 32 minutes and ran for over 100 metres.

Verrills played 60 minutes and ran 3 times for 33 metres.

Smith will really strengthen their attack around the middle of the field.

I am just realistic with my expectations. People don't take into consideration burnout, mental and and physical fatigue, long term injuries, retirement etc. Those are note excuses. It's life..ask anyone on here who has retired from competitive sport. I know there are quite a few on here who played at a high level and the years take its toll and it's hard to sustain. Throw in pressures of being in the NRL, one of the most heavily scrutinised and toughest sports in the world (watch the Instagram interview I posted the other day when the LA Rams came to visit as they were in awe of how the game is played here) and what comes up must eventually come down..

You can't expect the 2022 team to behave like the 2018 team for example. It's just not going to happen. I don't know why people get all so antsy about the term 'rebuilding'. That's how you create the next foundation and teach the next generation of Roosters to gell and play for one another. We are blessed to have the club we do who does set the benchmark in terms of excellence and professionalism. We should all be so lucky to have a workplace like that no matter what we do for a living.

I do believe we will continue to be a top 8 team. I just don't expect them to win every single year..that is just living in fantasy land. I know you are not like that but there are some on here who are. I've been around here since 2009 and a member of the old Wall from 2006 so I've read it all..as have quite a few others.

I am just enjoying reading how many people actually believe in their own minds they can tell Robbo what he should and shouldn't be doing.

I agree with you. Do you really think Nick Politis would stand for having any 'lazy' players on his books?

I personally hate that term.. I had someone tell me I shouldn't be posting a song the other day.....in a thread I started myself...

You'll get lots more enjoyment this week then Inflictor with the bye coming up..some have too much time on their hands so their idle keyboard hands and minds will be working overtime..grab some popcorn and make yourself comfy...

I want the Roosters way to mean hit the ground running. This has been our worst season since 2012 (worse than 16) and Robinson has to own it. Obviously we need to address our roster. Let go of some dead wood and replace them with better players. Losing Mitchell was the start of the decline, we just don't have the calibre of player to compete. We can't get near Penrith, Melbourne and even souffs. For me that horrendous loss to the vermin should've set off the alarm bells, we haven't been right since. This year was supposed to have been our return to the top, instead all we've seen is a clunky attack and woeful defence and once again Robinson needs to be accountable for it. We'll be better for Smith's arrival next year but there has to be other changes as well. No doubt every one will call me captain obvious but I have to say that my main concern is the coach and his methods, they definitely need fixing.
Without JWH, Rads, and Keary we were behind the 8 ball from the start. With those included I reckon we would've won that. And finally include the days of yesteryear with the likes of Cords, Friend, the twins etc, we'd have given last nights opposition a hiding. In short the coach can't perform any better with the players at hand, we don't have the cattle, and agreed Bellamy may be the GOAT but Robbos definitely not in the bottom of the coaches barrel...
