A lot of low-end models are there. My in-laws have a Chinese-made Benz (in Vietnam) and it's a piece of shyte. I literally thought it was a fake as it has glary LED lights throughout, the (non-adjustable) seatbelts choke you and the suspension isn't up to scratch. This surprised me because as a kid my mum always had an ooooold Benz that had been imported from Germany (her mechanic had done a somewhat illegal conversion to make it a right-hand drive). It was a family model 300TD with over 400k km on the clock. However, the handling and suspension were flawless. I'd argue you're not buying a real Benz unless you're getting a high-end model that's made in Germany... you're getting something that drives worse than a Hyundai (and paying for the badge).

Toyota makes most of its gear in Japan (my head office was in Nagoya - I know lotsa people who work at their manufacturing facilities). When it makes shyte in China... it ALWAYS ends up with class actions against it due to quality issues (which can be dangerous... e.g. the airbag issue that just about all manufacturers had). Yes there's some good stuff made in China with the right QA in place. But like... the CCP has to own 51% of any big company over there. Unless you're talking about something like Foxcon (i.e. electronics that are being made in a room where no human can enter & products are classified into classes based on the presence of impurities pre-sale [which technically shouldn't be there... but... CCP supply chains swapping out copper for cheaper alloys and stuff]) then you can't guarantee shyte.

I drive a luxury model Subaru (made in Japan). Nothing fancy (sorry I'm too poor) but it's never had any issues (in 10+ years) and is a much better ride than the low-end Benz that I described above. Even the finish is better as it's a rugged family car. I cannot fathom why a 'luxury' brand would put purple LEDs everywhere... reminding me of some full hectic, souped up lancer from the 90's (and the back seat's about as comfortable as trying to squish in, while leaving space for their fully sick subwoofer/wiring).

I thought you were an Oracle? You should know this stuff..ok as the forum Empath, I recommend trying a tourmaline crystal. If it was good enough for Alexander the Great, it's good enough for you:

"Black stones are always the best for protection. Black Tourmaline, in particular, removes negative energy from your car's environment as well as every other vehicle in the vicinity. It reduces the number of careless drivers that come into contact with you and it's one of the best gemstones for activating the base chakra, otherwise known as the root chakra.

This first energy center grounds your energy, helping you relax and feel secure in times of stress. If you're easily irritated by other vehicles on the road, this healing crystal will help you find peace and comfort within. The stimulation of the base chakra means you'll never feel lost or isolated while driving, even if you're the only one in the vehicle.

A little crystal bodyguard, this crystal transforms negativity into positivity, creating uplifting energy for the entire duration of the journey. It's one of those gemstones that make you smile whenever you see it. It relaxes the minds of all those in the car, while simultaneously providing additional focus for the driver. Black Tourmaline helps you keep calm on rough stretches of road."

Toyota and Subaru. As a private buyer, you simply cannot buy better.

Be wary of a manufacturer that needs to promote a warranty over its product.

I wouid rather a car with 5 years warranty that I wouldn’t need to use and then it still runs well for another 10-15 years than a car with a 7 year warranty that spends half its life in the shop for free then doesn’t survive much longer after the warranty expires.
